After viewing some inappropriate chats around young kids and the vulgur and cybering thats going on in the Feint Chats, I think there needs to be an immediate change. Either in moderation or simply ridding of it. And for all you who say "then don't go on it anymore", I won't. But children will. And I don't know about you, but watching them being introduced to that sort of garbage is disgusting. I understand Feint provides leaderboards, is there any other that provides leaderboards without chat? **Btw not trying to sound like im attacking you guys, but this is really a problem...
Well the original idea was a great one... Go to a chat room and talk about your favorite games. It would be like coming here to TA, only the posts are small and in real time. How great that would be.... It hasn't turned out that way though. I'm not a programmer or a webmaster or anything, so I don't know if it's possible to actually control the subject matter. It would seem to me that they'd have to delete 8 out of 10 posts as it's all being posted... all day long... all night long.
There'd either have to be a word filter, which are practically useless as they're easy to work around, or 24/7 mods, which are expensive. Sorry, but there's nothing you can do. As for kids being exposed to it, well, I don't really imagine a lot of young kids going to the chat. Most of the people opening the chat feature are old enough to understand everything that's going on, and will either stay or leave, depending on their personality. And even if a young kid were to stumble upon it, they're gonna leave sooner or later considering they don't understand it.
Then make Feint an app... If you want it, you download it. If it wasn't an automatic plug-in in your favorite game, then there's less chance someone very young would get access. There is absolutely no talk about the games in there, so it doesn't take away from the gaming experience. I mean really... It's like Yahoo chat, only everyone is a minor, and there aren't any bots... lol...
A little off topic but... What games is Feint in? I know it is in Pocket God but what else? Is this just an indirect chat about the pocket god feint application?
OpenFeint 2 has moderation built into it. I've been informed that along with Feint 2.0, you will be able to go to users profiles and report them for their misbehavior. Along with the MODs, this may change things!
