Nice, Inotia 2 wasn't really what I hoped for. Best RPG so far IMO for the iPhone, but that doesn't mean squat ;)

Can't wait for this, have more faith in this than SEED.

    Thank you, S.I.D.

    Just my two cents:
Korean games like Inotia2 and Seed tend to use the Diablo formula a lot (quests, grinding, micro management) - they go away from the traditional japanese, story driven Action-RPGs. I know lots of people who enjoy the Diablo formula and spend a lot of time with these games - but ultimately don´t finish them because, you know, the next game is coming and there is not much besides the "work", less soul, less adventure. Personally I think Across Age will really deliver a unique and different (console-like) experience on iDevices. It will be one of these games that you want to finish and which you will remember.

So are you implying that we should also expect a lot out of the script/story too?:D

Now that I think about it, you haven't mentioned much about the story or did I miss something.

That's a pretty serious mischaracterization of Inotia 2. There's plenty of story in Inotia 2 (much more than there is in Diablo I or II, IMHO), and little grinding and micromanagement. I'm really looking forward to Across Age, and I understand that the iDevice market is very competitive, but there's not need to take misinformed digs at other RPGs on the platform.

Key word there is "misinformed," Munkie. Opinion assumes knowledge; clearly, Future777 has not played Inotia 2.

Either way I'm pretty sure this will be better than Inotia 2, it won't be that hard to beat.

You see, Munkie -- that's an opinion.

Yes I have. I even praised it a bit in the Inotia 2 thread, it's an okay RPG(for the iPhone), I'm not in love with it like some people though.

It's better than Zenonia IMO and its the best RPG out there right now, but that doesn't mean a whole lot when the competition is what it is in the App Store.

I agree that while CoI 2 is the best right now, some of the upcoming RPGs, like this and say, SEED, will definitely give CoI 2 some competition. That'll be nice since competition breeds better games and I would really like to see some great RPGs come out for this platform.

Thanks, squarezero for the clarification. I wasn´t aware about that because so far my 15 years of korean games experience always showed a totally different approach compared to Japanese games.

It seems I also wasn´t good at explaining my point. It´s not the volume of the game/story, the other tasks, etc. Its more about the big picture. BTW I think the story of Diablo 1+2 is great, it had 4 movies in the game which where so amazing that I didn´t care too much about the little details in towns etc. Diablo had enough soul to keep me going and finish both games.

Across Age will not have an especially large storyline (e.g. huge script), but the character of the game is to follow an interesting story, visit new locations all the time and when you finished a dungeon, you are out of it - you know, progress to the next location. Like Zelda, Ys, etc. - the more linear approach.

Thanks, ilovemyipod. I hope the trailer gets ready this week - we need to find some time to record a bit ingame material without the debug information. Then we´ll show the intro movie together with some new ingame situations.

You think so? We´ll look into it when all the other "little" problems are fixed. Still not entered Beta. It´s pretty certain now that the game will not make it for a release in 2009. But January 2010 should work. ;)
