Yea, inotia 2 was awful, it was good in some ways, but the most important aspect, the fighting was really bad. Too repetitive and the player gets no control. The quests were mostly boring and non story related too. However, this game looks on track to becoming the very first truly excellent rpg to hit the appstore. Peole say zenonia was good. But compared with the previews we have seen for across age, zenonia seems way inferior and not even on par with across age.
A little status update Saturday wasn´t as good as we hoped it would be. The programmer in Japan fell down the stairs when he wanted to take a shower and now sth. is wrong with his leg. We feel guilty for that.. he was just too exhausted Then we became script errors when changing a feature which probably happened because everyone was just too weary. We didn´t work on Sunday to gather new strength. Today we continue to work on it.
How unlucky and what bad luck, sincerely hope the programmer is alright. In the mean time, dont exhaust yourselves and may the luck be with you.
Wow, looks like we´re on a run today! Much better progress today and we´re almost ready for the final candidate. Cross your fingers
I cross. Good luck guys, it is just monday - beginning of the week. Take Your time and release this gem!
A "final candidate" is a version that is supposed to be final. All features complete, all bugs dissolved. But it still needs to be playtested from beginning to end to check if it really is bugfree throughout the whole 15 hours adventure.
What he's saying is: after all these loooooong months of waiting, there's finally a light at the end of the tunnel, and it's very close.
Where did you get this extremely happy yet overly hopeful-sounding tidbit? I can only say that I hope you're right. The devs seem to be working their asses off which I'm happy to see and they also seem to be right on (or slightly ahead) of schedule. I fully expect this to be a killer app that will shoot right to the top. It may be a bit pricey for some, but for the content, I can't really argue with it. I mean, I payed $20-$40 for Zelda: Link's Awakening (god knows how many years ago or even if that's what I really payed lol it's been such a long time). That was the best money I've put in a portable game and I don't even think that was a good 5-6 hours of gameplay. I still play it on my iPhone every once in while. Needless to say I'm anxious just like the rest of you. This looks like it takes some of the best parts of the best RPGs and Adventure games out there and wraps them up in a neat little $10 package. Count me in when this releases, I'll be pushing an kicking my way to the front of the line lol WATCH OUT!
Yes, the programmer is ok. In fact, the game is finished now! Unfortunately we ran into another issue now that we can´t control.. It´s unbelievable, but we can´t build a release version right now. A required certificate expired and the renewal doesn´t work due to a database issue and an iTunes database update which Apple is running now (taking DAYS). Apple USA couldn´t tell us when we´re able to build release versions again. Let´s hope their database update is done, soon. We´re also having a Kryzer update in queue.
I really hope that works itself out soon. Sorry everything seems to be going wrong but I am really glad to hear your programmer is ok.
I´m sure everything will be solved, soon. All in all the project was a lot of fun to do. Japanese RPGs are one of our favourite classic genres
LOL of course this would happen when RC 1.0 is done! Sometimes you just have to sit back and laugh at stuff like this. It's really the only way life won't make you insane. Still looking forward to getting this, silly apple... Spending all their time with the ipad AND NOT RUSHING TO APPROVE THIS lol one quick question: so when you say the game is "done" do you mean done, done and ready to submit? Or is there still some internal testing that has to happen?
With "done" I was meaning ready to compile the final build 1.0 for submission. It is still playtested but we would talk about hours until submission and not "DAYS" thanks to the iTunes issue.
