What is your favourite Zelda game? For me it is definitely Link to the Past, I still play it to this day and am amazed by it. The visual style was perfect - I remember the first time I got to Death Mountain seeing the scrolling land at the bottom of the mountain - it was unreal. Because it is classic 2-d 16bit graphics it still looks polished to this day. Not to mention it has the most memorable over-world and my favourite set of boss battles.
Ocarina was great of the 64 (I wasn't a big fan of MM), but even still I never got the urge to replay it once I beat it. I have played through LttP 2 times 100% and probably 12 other times where I didn't go for every heart.
A Link to the Past hands down. I still play and enjoy this game very much. It was the first rpg that I played on the snes. I remember playing the game for about 14 hours straight.
The Oracle of Seasons/Ages, those got me through about 10 roadtrips. But, really, I can't name a definitive one because I love them all(even Zelda 2) for different reasons.
This may sound a bit weird, but I actually enjoyed Majora's Mask a bit more than Ocarina of Time. Maybe it's because I played it as a kid, or whether I just enjoy it more. I'm not entirely sure, but all I know is that I like it a bit more.
Oh my god did Majora's Mask bug the piss out of me hahahha. It was fun, and quite a challenge but I did not like it as much (not even close) Ocarina of Time. But my favourite would have to either be the Oracle of Seasons/Ages for the GBC (especially when linking the 2 together for the epic boss ending) or Link to the Past. I too remember playing that game for practically a whole day straight ahahaha
I remember getting the red boomerang on one playthrough, and I never got it again. How about WW, I loved the art style was cel-shaded & cartoonistic, so they could focus on gameplay & puzzles rather than graphics. Most people hate the sailing, but I loved it. The DS versions were also pretty good. If the PH had ST central dungeon style, it would beat it handsdown.
I actually never beat it. I got almost nowhere. Then again, I'm not too good at these games. The one I made the most progress in was Wind Waker until the redeads scared me too much to keep playing. Then again, that was when I was a kid and my Gamecube was still in the basement. Still, I need to get back to play some Zelda games again.
WW was awesome I loved it, and thought the graphics were top notch! I mean they were perfect for the story and everything, and the sailing was a freaking blast. I played PH and it was awesome, but I never did get around to get ST. Was it just as good?
Hmm..I'd have to say Link's Awakening. It's not the best of the bunch, but it has tons of happy childhood memories for me. First GB game I ever bought IIRC.
ST has one flaw. You can't play the flute where there is noise. It can basically be described as PH. More fan service. All the weapons aren't new, & the side missions are really only advisable to perform after you open up some teleport gates. The dungeons, writing, puzzles, & story are top notch. Definately worth the cash.
1. Ocarina of Time 2. Windwaker (I liked the new art style and it was just different than other Zelda games) 3. Twilight Princess
I loved both Gamecube Zelda games - especially loved the art direction in WW. Does anybody know if it is possible to hook up a gaming console to your iMac through a TV tuner? I am getting the urge to play these games again and I don't have TV in my room and have been looking at getting a TV Tuner.
LttP and Link's Awakening were amazing, but Ocarina of Time totally blew me away all over again so it's a tough decision.
You should remedy this ASAP. You're missing out on a legendary franchise. For me, gotta be OOT, although I think Minish Cap deserves honorable mention, I remember enjoying that a lot too. I don't know if it's just because I'd played nearly all the Zelda games by the time I played it, but Phantom Hourglass seemed a little easy. Anyone else find it a bit simples?
