For all you ranting on about pokemon, the competetive battle scene is the biggest it's ever been. All the new pokemon types hae made the metagame really diverse and there is so much depth to it. That being said, I agree that the regular adventure in-game can never replace the old games. If you guys get a chance, look up videos on pokemoshpit.
Now that's an area of geekdom I will never enter. It'd mean wandering into the realm of adults-playing-kids-games.
.... my favorite rpg (today) is Mass Effect 2, it´s astounding, but...i liked icewind dale, dragon age origins (pc) and Might & Magic IV (old gazer ) so much, and there are so much other games....
Yeh, I wont lie... if they come out with a 3DS XL i will get it right away with the latest pokemon. Lol this is a perfect analysis of Nintendo's financial plans
My 3 are: FFVII - It was so incredible when it first came out, my friend and I played it non stop until we beat it. Shining Force Series - Has a special place in my heart as it introduced me to SRPGs and it's one of my favorite genres to this day. Plancescape: Torment - Absolutely fell in love with this game and anything bioware when I first played it.
The Champions of Norrath series were my most played games on the PS2 other than the Kingdom Hearts games. Just remembered how amazing those were.
any fans of the Gothic series? I loved the first and second games, and the third one was decent (but in followed the same trend as Oblivion did by making the game easier and more casual). The first two games were amazing though - I loved the deep lore-rich worlds, and open exploration combined with the tight quest-based gameplay that made them feel more story-based than any of the Elder Scrolls games. Right now I am playing Daggerfall on my iMac - while I still think Morrowind was a better over-all effort - Daggerfall is still an amazing game.
