Game Impressions Put simply: this game is absolutely outstanding. Forget the polish, the upgrades, the numerous game modes, the attention to the minutest detail, the outrageous sense of fun. It has all that and more, but in this case all that can be taken for granted. What this game has, above all, is that very particular, intangible magic which makes the very few select games rise above the rest. Nintendo and Miyamoto immediately spring to mind. Best game on the app store as far as I'm concerned.
They are controlled like any other box would. They can move forward and back, they can roll, and apparently they can jump and attack you. Each other (listed above) has a different ability. And no, I am not going to list what abilities each one has.
This game is simply amazing, you're basically stealing from the Kooistra family by buying this game for 99¢. Holy shit, I can't put it down to actually prepare a review for it.
I know right. Arena is probably my favorite mode out of all of them. Also Customization is nice as well!
You know I have to ask...are enemy spawns in each mode somewhat randomized (like randomized but from within clearly subset of applicable creatures for the given mode) or, as there are course times involved, are the placement and type of the beasties completely scripted? Mr. Random MUST KNOW ASAP!
Hold the phone! I think you've answered my question from the last post! If there can be a mode like "No Excuses - Nothing Random" one could easily infer that the other modes feature a fair amount of randomization.
Just a quick review, most of this stuff is probably covered but oh well The controls are great. You can tilt, swipe, gamepad or use one hand. Personally I use Gamepad and it's very responsive. The gameplay is really fun and addicting. You travel a land, your only attacks being a swipe, lunge or a spell. Theres 9 spells I think. Theres a lot of different game modes, so theres hours ahead of you The highscores work great, you can submit online or locally. Online only shows your best in that category. You get 3 letters to show your name so choose carefully. Also you can change what your character wears, which is cool and it also shows on the leaderboards. The graphics are quite nice, the background changes everynow and then too. The only thing I don't like so much is the music. It can get kinda repetitive but thats not a biggie. Overall I have to say it's a great pick up and play, or a sitdown for an hour or too trying to beat others high scores. Very fun and addicting. I give it 9/10
