http://health.yahoo.net/news/s/nm/us_puberty_earlier seems the hormoans pumped into our food is making girls go through puberty earlier. was about 14 the girls went through in my generation.. i wonder if this has anything to do with weight too.. genetics also plays a role in this.. wonder if the food we are eating is changing our genetics for the worse.. ( everyone in my family is skinny, aunts uncles etc.. maybe we all eat right.. but naw its has to be some genetics involved.. ) chris.
well i did and they only have 12" plates. and turkey platters. i only looked at the three stores i went too.. and no i did not go there just to look for plates. i do not need any.. glasses hell yeah im always breaking them.. i do agree one should man up and take responsibility for there own actions.. chris.
+1. Though I get the most unhealthiest stuff there. Like a 4 x 5 with extra Thousand Island, Animal Style... With Well Done Animal Style Fries.... *drools*
There's some interesting sourced information here (under "Read the Science") http://smallplatemovement.org/ I don't think it's right to completely blame weight issues on other things, but it also isn't right to blame it all on the person. There are many factors such as genetics, upbringing, social pressure, etc., that all contribute in different ways to our food and eating habits. Staying skinny is easy for me because I was raised in a traditional Chinese household and I have good genetics. I have grown up appreciating vegetables and fruits, but not everyone is that lucky. It is certainly harder to make healthy foods for yourself when you've never been taught how to cook and clean vegetables.
mmmm animal style.. yeah i do like in and out. KFC and in and out.. but only California and Arizona gets in and out.. man i want some animal style now. LOL def cant be good for us.. i wonder if KFC is healthier.. but with all the stuff they probably feed the chickens.. we are doomed. lol. sorta like the turkey we eat for thanksgiving.. its been genetically bread to have larger brest and can not mate anymore they have to be artificially knocked up.. crazy. chris.
Fast Food is bad because it has so much salt and fat, it can eventually lead to high blood pressure, heart disease and obesity. Large fries for example, have roughly 500 calories (RDA = 2000) and 25g of fat (RDA = 55g) also 0.9g salt! 2.3g of salt in a double cheese burger at McD's. RDA = 6g 540 cal in a large milkshake, 0.6g salt! 515 cal in a muffin, 1.2g salt. So you can see, with just a 3 course 'meal' you have nearly consumed the days worth of calories :O Also consumed nearly all your salt intake. BEWARE!
yeah, my step dad has to watch his salt intake.. when he started looking at his food.. it all had so much salt. chris.
I never eat fast food. The only thing I would ever eat that might be considered fast food is a Japanese resturant in the food court at our local mall. They grill everything as you order, they don't add any oil or salt and their food tastes great. One of the main reasons I go their all the time is because I know the owners and I know the food is healthy. Plus they are a locally owned business that I like to support. Aside from that I would never eat fast food. The wife and I do enjoy going out to a family resturant every once in awhile though but we are very picky and only have a few that we consider worth going to.
Hmm, not sure really mate. I just started getting a side pain earlier at work. I feel like I've pulled something in my back, but I'm cleaning up my act just in case. How is stuff going with you? My body girth feels bad for your body girth as it may or may not be as girthy as your body girth. >.>
Yeah, you've probably just pulled a muscle or something in your back. When I played rugby I'd get a new injury pretty much every week But yeah, my broken arms have healed completely now. Still having the stomach pain, but it's calmed down a bit. I'm still waiting for my next scan. But as you probably know, it often takes a while for the NHS to get things done
Fortunately it's not terrible, but since late into my wife's pregnancy, and since my son has been born, my eating and exercise habits have gone to shit. I need to get back into shape before it gets much worse lol
I don't know man, maybe it's an American thing, but I can find plenty of differently sized plates here (UK) It was interesting, but I still couldn't find anything on plates getting bigger over the years in the studies, except for one talking about the upsizing of restaurant portions, and that little graphic on the front page of the site.
Good to hear everything is settling down for you mate. I hope it's more a pulled muscle than a organ malfunction. Definitely not active enough to chalk it down to sports related injury (more likely to be cause I'm a 25 year old fart). I hear you buddy, I don't have the luxury of blaming my lack of exercise on a kid or wife! ;D
