"It's not the sequel, it's the next game by the same team" We thought it's about time we did another fishing game after the success of Flick Fishing, which we wrote for Freeverse way back in 2008 and had been updating right up to when they closed their doors. Fast Fishing is our new fishing game, with a slightly different spin on fishing. You have to catch fish quickly to meet the target weight (or other target) for each level to be able to progress. Once areas are unlocked by completing them in the main game, you can also fish in them at your own speed in Zen mode. Fun controls, lots of fish, beautiful fishing spots, gizmos, rods and reels to collect and this time it's also going to be on OS X too. (oh and we're even working on an Oculus Rift version ). If you want to have a quick play now, before it's released, we've done a Web Demo that's currently in public beta. It gives you a play of a single fishing spot, with the ability to unlock a bonus spot if you catch enough fish to meet the target. Point your browsers (OS X or Windows) to http://www.strangeflavour.com/games/osxgames/ to have a play and challenge your friends to a FishNet match!
We're working on the iOS and OS X versions in tandem, hopefully submitting within the next week or so. Here's a work in progress shot from the Mac version (iOS one's similar resolution and works in landscape as well as portrait modes)..
Definitely looking forward to seeing this one! Not able to play the demo. Gonna make an Android version? Will get both probably then!
Looks great guys - can't wait to play this on a device. Sunk many an hour into Flick Fishing back in the day!
Hopefully we'll be submitting Fast Fishing for iOS this week (then finishing off the Mac version to submit later). Here's a couple of work in progress shots, showing the game in portrait and landscape..
WOW, I love fishing game, and we are developing one too! Anyway, why does it have to be fast? I personally like to fish as long as I want...
yes,We're working on the iOS and OS X versions in tandem, hopefully submitting within the next week or so.
It's a fun gameplay angle. Think fishing with the timer angle of games like Outrun where you're trying to make the next checkpoint in time. (Also makes it ideal for quick pick up and play sessions when you have a few minutes) There's an untimed Zen mode too though. As you unlock each area in the main Fast game you can go back and fish in them without a timer.
Fast Fishing's been submitted to the App Store, hopefully in time for a pre-Christmas release. While we wait, here's a screenshot...
We decided to hold back Fast Fishing from a Christmas release and it's now approved and waiting for release on the 22nd of January
