no need to be rude to the dev or anything. im sure he spent quite a bit of his free time on this app. but seriously, when are apps like this gonna fade away from the app store. it makes the iphone/ipod touch look like an amateur and not-serious "gaming console". big scale gaming companies and other prominent devs will continue to ignore the app store until app like this are gone. once again, no personal attack on either the dev or the app, just apps like this in general. i will be passing up on this givaway
I have to politely disagree. Sure, these kinds of apps doesn't help, but nothing seems to keep the big devs away! Developing a board/puzzle game (LabyMania (FREE), check it...) I fight companies like EA and Gameloft... They're quite big, and I wish for an app store with more small farts than big turds (turds, only because they are competition - I like what they do ) Just my two cents, sorry for hijacking the thread... - A
No offense taken as I'll be the first to admit that the app is crap. It was actually my annoyance with the state of the app store that inspired its genesis: I had just released Insulting Monk and it tanked completely. Looking through the entertainment section of the app store it seemed like every other app was boob-this, boob-that. And if it wasn't boob-related it had to do with farts! I figured "If you can't beat'em join'em". I figured "Farting Boobs" would be so over the top bad-taste that the joke should be obvious. From the reactions I've received I might have miss-judged my sense of humor somewhat... (press release) As for your concerns for the app store I don't think you should worry, I believe the big guns are fairly pragmatic. If the returns are there they will come, otherwise Konami, EA, iD etc. wouldn't bother. If anything threatens the App Store it's the race to bottom where quality apps are sold for next to nothing, this is a model that might prevent the bigger guns from investing in larger titles for the platform. In this respect you could even claim that crap apps like this one helps, as it demonstrates the difference between the $0.99 stuff and the quality titles.
