This so far is my pick of the week - am absolute gem of a game and a steal for $1!
Artwork and gameplay are thoroughly enjoyable!
Will be playing this from cover to cover so to speak.

    Hi guys,

I was sleeping but I thought I heard my baby cry :)
Just some quick answers to the most pressing topics, because it's just impossible to keep answering to every post.

Thanks. This means a lot to me. My advice is that you get your finances in order, so that you can live without a paycheck for a while (a long while). This was one of my life's dreams and I'm living it now. No money pays for this :)

I really hope you're right, that would be a major help in actually making a business out of this.

Isn't the survival mode sufficient? The timer is reversed to actually reward you for the time you spend alive.

Or do you want something really easy, so that you can get that bubble wrap popping feeling, but with vampires? :D

    1) Yes.

    2) We'll discuss it further (after I sleep for a bit more :) )

    3) It doesn't have to do with processing power, it has to do with gameplay. If I keep the bodies, the bounties would take a lot longer to spawn (and they're pretty useful in some levels) and if I spawn the bounties with the bodies on the floor, you won't see them. This was the best compromise I could come up with. For the blood/gore I can definitely keep it there much longer for more powerful devices. I'll have to look into the shells, because the current physics step I'm using isn't sufficient for a stable paused shell on the floor.

    :D It'll come :DDD

yes, please write reviews and do a Facebook like in Gamecenter. That would really help me a lot.

If you read some of the previous post, you'll see that there are actually some people who found it useful to have a smaller version. I did two versions merely to please customers, since besides customer happiness I have nothing else to gain (much to loose actually).

Could you please update your one star review? If you had spoken to me I would gladly have given you a promo code to the HD version.

Currently you'll gain nothing at all by having the HD version in an iPod 4G, since the issue with the 4G is memory, rather than processing power. To be able to run Fangz in a 4G, the 4G only uses lower quality sound and graphics.
I'm currently redoing some parts of the game and I may gain sufficient memory to update the HD version, so that the 4G has better sound, but I can't promise anything right now.

If it does well enough I'll do it.

I need the game to at least pay for the development costs first. But I'd love to do this, and go beyond. I'd love for characters to actually behave differently, so that it's not just a cosmetic change.

    @gamewhizzes

There are no impossible levels. If you're stuck then... you're holding it wrong :D

Yes, the iPad will get better graphics with the HD version. The normal version has same resolution graphics, but they're compressed in PVRTC. with the HD version graphics are uncompressed and are much nicer on a larger screen.

    First or second content update.

Time your jumps. If you're using the shotgun, only fire it really close to the enemies. And keep on moving forward :)

Well, this was a risk I took. I knew the difficulty level could be too much for some people. Play a bit on survival mode, do some grinding, update your stats and observe the mechanics of the different melee weapons (they're as sluggish as if a real actual life person was handling them :) ).
Another approach for the lawyers level is to grind a bit more, buy loads of firearms and just shoot your way through them.

At least I got one point through... you now hate lawyers and investment bankers :D

What can I do to improve the game for you?

The shotgun and the lightsaber are not sufficient at all to go through that level on time. You need something with more bang in it.

Rule of thumb: always get the HD version if you have the space.

I'm going to sleep a lot now. I can't thank you enough for all the support you've given me. I found some of the posts here truly inspiring :)

    Cheers,
    Alex

Excellent, thanks for the response! I'll buy the SD version then, since I don't have any plans to upgrade my ipod for a while. You don't happen to be the brother of the guy that made Dungeon Plunder, are you? I don't think I've ever seen better support/handling of complaints from anyone besides you and the DP guy... err, that doesn't abbreviate well.. the Dungeon Plunder guy. Best of luck with future updates and my big fat 99 cents is slinging your way!

If you need any help with the icade implementation either with testing or getting some help with some other developers let me know.

I just finished up helping on the icade controls for Plasma Sky and the Other Brothers. If you click on my title, you can click on the links to the hdmi tv thread and icade threads which both have a lot of information on the icade core joystick.

You can see the Plasma Sky thread, or read this from The Other Brothers developers

If you need any help, please ask.

The gameplay is pretty hard, and the file size is a bit to big.

Like what? Still stuck on lvl 7, used every weapon almost and still favor the shotgun to them all. It hits enemies on different planes like above and below you. Minigun good but big and only straight path shot, Same w machine gun. plasma gun too slow for this lvl. Finally cut down time on the big hulks by using lightsabre but I still run out of health before the end and there's no time to eat beans. Not sure about the jumping mechanic, it's suggested a lot to jump to avoid harm, but jumping damages you so u get harm anyway so id rather get hit and kill them. And w lightsabre it hurts u even more so that's pretty useless.

Awesome game and anyone who needs to grind, do survival mode. I'm just stuck on this level for now til I figure something out.

A little feedback after playing for a couple hours on campaign mode...

In the same vein as Zombieville 2 but far from being a clone. Nice story with snappy dialogue and personality. An obvious winner with the art and animations. One could say repetitious, but if you're a fan of this type of genre like myself then this is a minor concern.

    Observations & Suggestions:

-Control customization, both in terms of making the buttons transparent and being able to place them where you wish. The swipe mechanic for switching weapons works well.

-The double jump is too finicky, in that you have to tap twice immediately to get it to work. It actually took me a minute to 'discover' the double jump, even though I knew it existed, simply because it is such a tight double tap. Maybe I just have to get used to this, but this could probably use a little leeway.

-The countdown beep for the last 10 seconds on the timed levels is a little irritating. A more subdued sound would be more appropriate and still be effective/noticeable.

-I am enjoying the challenge and the overall aggressive nature of the enemies, but the difficulty has to be tweaked and some of the enemy attacks feel a little cheap. A normal mode and a hard mode might be more appropriate. I can't imagine a casual gamer getting very far with this, especially when an experienced gamer like myself is dying multiple times per level.

-More weapon choices are always welcome. The possibilities are endless.

-Last but definitely most important, there seems to be no way to access the shop unless you beat a board or quit the game. This game is tough as stated above and if you need to add to your stats so you are better equipped to beat a tough board, you can't do so.

Enjoying the title so far. An update or two will smooth out the rough edges.

    And an idea...

The game makes many references to the character being fat. It would be neat to see him lose weight and look more fit as you upgrade his stamina and speed ;)

Curious of why you'd want to alienate about 50 percent of your U.S. audience? Not everyone is a liberal who thinks the 1% are evil. Would you find it offensive if I had a zombie shooter where we shoot the "evil" welfare freeloaders? Or the evil college kids who take out loans then expect the government fo pay for it? Seriously, I'll skip your game as I think it is just as offensive as the examples I gave.

So far the best afterlife games I have played on iOS include: Minigore 2, The infect em all series and Zombieville USA 2. Fangz makes my recommendation list, the artwork is crazy and chomping with colour.

A definite need for a difficulty tweak. Right now, I enter a room, do my absolute best not to die, proceed to die about ten times, survive barely, then move onto another room, die another ten times, with no way to get to the shop to upgrade.

EDIT: Right now, I enter a room, do my absolute best not to die, proceed to die about ten times, wait 20 long seconds for the enemies to reappear, survive barely, then move onto another room, die another ten times, with no way to get to the shop to upgrade.

Is it just me or the music reminds me of another side scrolling runner / shooter hybrid 2D game that I used to play on the 3GS. I forget the name of the game but it was about some psycho dude running away from prison and the goal was to reach airport. I forget the name but I recall the main character was a little crazy and would laugh when you blow up zombies while running from left to right...

Back to my point the music was almost identical to that or was it just me?
