No, I didn't give up my original vision, I merely tweaked it in a way that improved it in my view. It took a lot of discussion, but once things settled down in this thread it became obvious that these tweaks would improve gameplay for a vast majority of players. Well, this is mostly due to budget issues. I'd gladly do more different vamps, but right now sales are at an abysmal level and I just can't invest the type of time/money that a new enemy involves with sales at this level. Hopefully sales will pickup with this update. For my next game I'm seriously considering some type of IAP that allows me to keep on supporting a game. Hey, Fangz (the non HD version) just got approved by Apple Please leave a positive review in the app store if you liked the update. Reviews do help in getting more sales. Cheers, Alex
The vocal minority can sometimes be reflective of the silent majority. Improved upon in my view as well And the game is plenty difficult on Insane mode, with more balance. I welcome the God mode you have previously mentioned. In terms of character alterations, and if Alex ever gets the time/funds to do it, this is what I'd like to see: -Remove the rapper vampires on Vamp Street and replace them with a 'banker' vampire to accompany the lawyers already present there. -Add a 'bum/homeless person/junky-type' vampire to the Subway and Junkyard levels. Remove the rappers from the Junkyard entirely. -Replace Schwartzencorpse with a large vampire. This is an opportunity for a character with more personality than the Schwartzencorpse while also keeping the vampire theme consistent. There are MANY different variations on the vampire that would be cooler than just having a large, lumbering zombie. The new stamina bar has done exactly what I had hoped: allowed the player to be able to escape a situation without being penalized. However, I'd prefer to keep my ability to jump even after the stamina bar depletes and then have my energy be taken. If IAP is the only way you can continue to support this title or future titles, then so be it. Just make sure the IAP is tasteful and doesn't give the player the ability to alter the gameplay by paying more money.
While the timers didn't necessarily need to be removed from the game entirely, they definitely could have done with an adjustment; in the very first timed level I made a straight run to the end and still couldn't make it in time, which didn't leave me with a particularly positive impression of the game.
Really great update! I'm glad the new upgrades are expensive. I replayed the most of the campaign, and there's still some really challenging parts (level 7 for example).
Yup. Agreed. I am getting a nasty crash, repeatedly. I've been playing Survival, as usual, and it just keeps crashing on me, randomly.
Great update! New perks are fun! Was wondering, the difficulty modes only apply to campaign mode only? Is it applicable to survival mode as well? If it apply to survival mode, does that mean playing a insane survival mode will get more points thn easy survival mode? Having fun at insane campaign mode, can't wait to try all ways to clear all insane 10stages.
Talk about Politically Incorrect, that's some serious discrimination. It's not ok to use terms like that ya know
Well, here we go again I was waiting for someone to make a comment about that. Firstly, this isn't politics. If you want to talk about political incorrectness, then go vote for someone. Secondly, art imitates life. You mean to tell me that if a video game developer takes what he sees in every day life and puts it into a video game that this developer is supposed to carry the stigma of being insensitive, or wrong, or 'politically incorrect?' Dude, get the hell out of here. Thirdly, isn't there something about the game itself you could comment on, instead of taking it in 'this' direction? It's a video game forum, not a leftist propaganda outlet. My recommendation has NOTHING to do with political correctness. I care about this game being the best it can be. That's it.
Thx for the ans. Hello dev, does insane mode campaign/survival has more points/per kill vs easy mode campaign/survival? Or is it the same? If the point per kill is the same, easy mode survival might be better for surviving longer. So for the leaderboard, will there be a separate board for different difficulty or it will remain the same by getting the best score frm any difficulty and adding up to have the total campaign pt?
Can you please reboot your device and tell me where you're getting those crashes? Is it in a specific level? It applies to survival too. In hard mode points and kills are multiplied by 2, and in insane by 3. In easy they're halved.
I understand what you mean. Personally I wouldn't mind if you just put more regular and the female vamp (from the first lv) around more places. Haha I wouldn't mind seeing the pajama vamp (from the first stage) lurking the streets too. I'm definitely looking forward to your next game. Even if there is iap I would pick it up. ^__^
I also agree that for quality games like this , I don't mind paying for some IAP too. I pretty sure with a reasonable IAP structure gamers will still be supportive. Maybe for your next game u can have a free version of it with a free stage 1, and a 1 time unlock full price for the rest of the game. This kind of model may appeal better and users get to try 1st hand b4 paying and volume will be massive, it's like a free advertisement.
Non discriminatory IAP for vanity goods maybe? But realistically, I think the sad part is most people only buy IAP when it impedes progress rather than support devs. We are just the vocal minority... Sad but true... I used to be a proponent of fair pricing rather than 99 cents but that's been proven wrong so many times.
I think the middle ground between sheer IAP abuse and having no IAP at all is to put your game out there for free with part of the game playable and the rest of the game unlockable via IAP, similar to how Cordy works. Consumable IAP is just unacceptable in any form.
I find it amazing how people find out a game is on sale so fast! In Android, sales of the last hour are equivalent to the sales of the previous entire day... in iOS I still have no data, but I'm hoping for a similar behavior. Also, if you have a copy of Fangz, pleeeease leave a review. The only review I have of Fangz 1.1 (not the HD version) is a 1 star review saying the game crashes in the final boss. I tried to reproduce it, but I got no crashes in more than 10 attempts...
