Alex, being on the Lebanese store unfortunately means writing a review for Fangz will be nothing short of pointless. I know this isn't saying much, but if I could, I'd give you a 6 star review. Do you mind posting the updated 1 (now 3) star review?
Hi Alex I left a 5 star review for your Awesome Game. Owww man you are unbelievable developer one of kind thank you for this great Game and the Amazing time I have with this Gem!!!
I would like to see : Pinch to zoom out Variable difficulty (perhaps just more time in easy) Jumping should not affect health, perhaps a separate jump or energy allowance meter? More weapons!! Ha Im rank 69 in overal game centre
There are 30 TA people who took the time to rate this thread. Let's see all 30 go and write a 5 star review of Fangz!! Come on guys, this is a fabulous game. All you guys always complaining about IAP, here's your chance to walk the walk you so fervently preach.
Sorry for not writing this in English but Alex deserved a special compliment in his own language
Alex, can you make the health deduction taken by jumping more lenient? I would be more inclined to use it if it didn't count against me so much. EDIT: Actually, this reminds me of something... If anyone has played Orc: Vengeance (great game, btw) there is an energy bar for your special abilities that fluctuates depending on the difficulty setting. On easy mode, it regenerates on its own. On hard difficulty it subtracts on its own. If I remember correctly, the normal difficulty has it staying constant. I personally think the health deduction for jumping should be done away with, but since that isn't an option and if you are adding difficulty levels, then it might make sense to do something along the lines of the example I just gave. Point being, I would be avoiding enemy attacks more with the jump as you suggested if in the back of my mind if I wasn't worried about dying because of it.
This is just plain awesome. Just left my 5star review. How can you not? It's too hard? Not at all. This so far is my GOTY. Better than Zombieville, and not easy but not too hard once you do a few upgrades (easily achieved by doing survival mode). Grab it NOW!
I think a roll is a fantastic idea. It would also help balance the difficulty. EDIT: If this game had a more futuristic tone, then I would say a type of teleport mechanic would be equally as helpful. Anything to get away from the vampires without being deducted for doing so is a win in my book. Thank you. I just know that those are the main things holding me back from giving it the 5 star review that I would prefer to give it, as opposed to 4 stars. Not to sound confrontational since I know you are a TA regular, but it can be irritating to be told when and how to leave a review on the game. Let people decide on their own time. We all know where the App Store is. Yes. That'll probably happen with the difficulty options, but I'd like to see it tweaked slightly across the board.
So after playing some more over the weekend I must say that I was wrong in my previous assessment of this game. This game is great. Graphics are top notch. The sound is superb. Love the blood and gore. Once I figured out how to use the jump ability correctly it's like a completely different game. Off to leave a five star rating in App Store. Thanks for such a fun game!
Hah! Just realized that I accidentally purchased the wrong version of the game. Wanted the HD version but got standard version instead. Still looks great on mini. Now I may be forced to drop $1.99 on the HD version as a high-five to the dev.
Thanks for the review! Regarding the cons: - I shot for a given band of difficulty, that felt right to me (I'm a hardcore gamer) and later decreased that difficulty to accommodate a fellow hardcore gamer that felt the game was too hard. Many people fall in this line, but the game's mass appeal was decreased by this. Difficulty levels will come, to fix this aspect. That being sad, the fact that the game is so difficult is one of the factors that's giving it publicity - Many more enemies types and the story wouldn't feel cohesive. Plus I had a budget to keep - Energy is consumed but regained right after, if you don't jump again or get bitten. Upgrading the stamina and health stats will make this regeneration much faster. I'm sorry, but no, it would be difficult to add another button on the GUI and maintain the ease of play, and it would be a significant effort to add (new code, new animations, new graphics, new testing). I'm starting to plan for Fangz to, for Halloween 2014, so keep those suggestions coming, and if they don't make it into Fangz, they'll make it into Fangz 2. No IAPs means that I have to earn my living with plain hard work on new titles I knew it was going to be difficult not to get the leaderboards hacked, but still, I used many different methods to at least make that harder (I have 30 keys used for MD5 hashes for all data fields of the game). But Fangz is so popular, that all sorts of hackers are giving it a go. I've even seen on the internet, patches for infinite coins and brains. The amount of work to do that type of hacking is significant, so I was actually happy someone liked the game so much to go through all that effort. I placed the image at http://gamewhizzes.com/images/unfair2.png Just to make it clear: Bernardo Español is not a fair person at all. After I replied to him, he changed his review to three stars. Now, as I went to the US site to see his review again, it was down to two stars. I'm used to finding jerks all over, but the ones I find usually keep the fact that their jerks kind of private, and don't announce it all over the internet. I'm over this. Many more people love this game than the ones that don't. Fangz polarises some people and I'm fine with that. I'm just unhappy it's costing me sales. Master Lee, I'll make it a question of going to Greece, with my entire family, most likely during the Summer of 2014. I'll certainly be in touch. You were here from the beginning, always supportive, and I won't ever forget that. I can't say much more Difficulty levels will come. They'll affect time too. On the jumping we don't agree. Sorry. I want to avoid jumping bunnies in this game More weapons are coming. I'm planning a bug fix update to be released in a week (then another week for Apple to approve it), a content update in a month and a half, with new weapons and a new boss, and s second content update after that with some more stuff (still not sure what). I'll most likely keep on adding things to this game up until the end of this year, but eventually I must focus my effort on something else. Muito obrigado! Vou enviar-te uma PM. They'll be adjusted in easy and hard modes. What you're playing is normal mode If you upgrade your health/stamina, energy regeneration will be very quick. Anymore than this and the game's balance is ruined (at least for me). In easy mode this will also be tweaked (it'll regenerate faster in easy mode). Thanks so much! Now I'm hoping that you put those feelings into a review in TheAppShack, so I can blast it all over the interwebs It's really nice to see when someone's neural network gets reorganised and they finally become proficient in the game. I knew I had a cool game when I was having more fun playing it than Skyrim, or Diablo 3, or any other game with any type of hack and slash. Yes, it's my game and I'm biased, but I knew that amongst the billion plus market of smartphones out there, there had to be a part of the population that though like me. Welcome to the club Oh, and the sound. I spend hundreds of hours on that, and it almost never gets the praise it should. Thanks!
You don't have to say anything Alex my word is my promise and my promise is my honor. Btw Alex any chance for more Achievements?
Idea for fangz 2, coop multiplayer. These hack slash games are always so much fun coop like golden axe, final fight etc. I have no idea how hard or budget intensive it is to give a game online jump in/jump out multiplayer but it always ramps the fun up. Magicka for ipad is an awesome example of how I think it should be done.
The thing I love about this game is the challenge and the feeling you get when a vamp finally drops a health item in the disco levels after it seemed like forever since they dropped the last . And you were so near death you couldnt see any colour in the life bar and scrambling around like a maniac with 30 seconds left . But that one health drop saved you and allowed you to finish the level Great stuff . Or when you curse the vamp st. level when the ammo drops just dry up , and you have to finish off the boss with the light saber or other melee weapon because you're totally out of bullets . Very satisfying
Yeah, my stats are maxed out. I know one thing: if there weren't limitations on the jumping, I wouldn't be complaining about the difficulty at all. Then I think the gameplay would be balanced. I'll just leave it at that Still a solid title. I'll leave a good review for you Alex.
Being able to move while meleeing would make melee 100 times funner. Coop survival with Game Center would be awesome. Different weapons would be cool too
Bought the HD Version and gifted the normal Version to my brother for his iphone 4. I left a 5 Star Review in the german Appstore. Being a gfx-artist myself I just have to point out how superb the look and feel of the game is. The graphics are amazing and the animations are a joy to watch. In addition the game plays so smooth and is so polished, that it is at least as much fun as my beloved zombieville 2. Great job on this one.
