Is it? Because I was at my Gamestop buying Borderlands and Fallout 3 looked really good but scary. Is it?
Not from what I've heard. I'm sure parts of it are suppose to be spooky, it's set in a post-apocalyptic world, but it's not suppose to be a horror-shooter, just a game where you play a survivor of the nuclear holocaust.
It is not piss your pants scary but there will be times that you will be creeped out like "gary" or the first time you face a deathclaw

I know I'm probably biased because I love Fallout 3, but some parts of it are genuinely scary. The environments and atmosphere add a lot of tension to the game, and many times I've jumped because I was paying too much attention o certain areas. I think it really just depends on how much you get into it.
IDK but when I walked into the school, I pooped my pants. I was expecting like kids there, but what do I find? bodies ripped up, arms and legs missing, All of them had their heads ripped off, a cage with a mutiliated body, blood everywhere. Needless to say, I left immediately.
Very true. The carnal tendencies of the raiders add much to the peaceful yet slightly depressing vision of the post apocalyptic world. You go from all these ravaged and calm places into the violent parts of the game world, and my first playthrough I was definitely thrown out of touch. It's a very compelling game, and I recommend it hahaha
I think Skyye nailed it. Fallout 3 isn't so much scary but its very creepy at times. Its basically a survival game with a rich dark atmosphere. The deathclaws, lurkers, and a few other mutants can take you by surprise by suddenly appearing around corners and attacking, it can startle you, but adds to the suspense of the game.
I remember going there the fist time to find the nukacola bottles for that chick. lol I went there without the dartgun at first. I was like wtf is that! they killed me in like 3 swipes, then I made the dartgun and went back there and whooped em.
Lol never used a dart gun in my life. Brought 3 sets of enclave armour, plasma minigun, a shitload of stimpacks and went kamikaze on that place.
yeah I managed to take a few of them down with some heavy weaponry but wasted too much ammo. The dartgun just shoot em in the leg and they move like turtles, then just use a rifle to finish em. I can't wait for Fallout 4, I think its coming out in 2010.
Really? I thought it was 2011. Oh well I had quite a lot of ammo so spamming was no problem for me and it is always more satisfying.
There are parts that freaked me out. The first time you're in the subway and it's pitch black, there are feral ghouls everywhere that come sprinting after you. One rule: don't waste ammo
I guess it is 2011 now, last time I checked a few months ago it was 2010. Gonna be a helluva game though.
Well the first time I got jumped by a mutated bear scared me... another thing that might freak you out is that all of travel in DC is through subways... and you will encounter alot of ghouls and those things freak me out alot... otherwise its cool
