Now stuff definitely is above my paygrade , i.e. I don't have the numbers and knowledge to back things up. #1: It's the Internet in 2017, someone WILL be offended no matter what you do #2: The question is: does it matter? As in "does the number of players who will spend money on my game because I put in parental controls outweigh the players who don't like it and won't drop a dime?" And I do not have a comprehensive answer for you. #3: Some things to take into consideration: a) Your game is listed for ages 4+ , which should increase your chances of parents getting it for their kids. b) Your game is listed in the Appstore's "Games" category, not in "Kids". Which might reduce or increase your chances, depending on what parents are looking for. c) For both #a and #b, you'd need some solid research and statistics to give a conclusive answer. I don't have those, nor have I come across any in the last years. Doesn't mean they aren't out there, though. #4: Adding an option to switch parental controls off sounds like an excellent idea to me. #5: I also really like your idea about the "ask your parents" screen, specifically the wording. Sounds much nicer than "bugger off kiddo, that's the adult stuff" #6: If you want to offer more detailed options, make two separate ones: one for turning ads on/off, one for turning IAP on/off. Switching them to off by default everytime you start your game sounds like a good idea. If you want to be really thorough - and to avoid folks getting annoyed that they have to turn it on all the time - add an option for that too. So you'd e.g. have an option slider for ads: permanently off (default), permanently on, on till next game start. In summary, I'd say go with whatever you feel the most comfortable with, and see if you get any crazy reactions to it. This is a really good result. As your game is in the "Age 4+" category, I wonder if Apple restricts ads somehow.
Amazing!!! I'm already addicted to this game! I'm in my 30's and downloaded it for my kids who obviously love it as well. Superb graphics and I like that you learn as you go. Makes it more exciting somehow to figure things out on your own. I've found the necessary instructions are given by the dragon. Upgrading the hero is awesome and clever. Love how their power and playability improves over time. Makes playing really enjoyable. Yes, the control takes getting used to but it didn't take us long (my 6 year old can do it.) If anything it's reactive and accurate. Only tip would be to have a way of anchoring the hero when firing at a wasp or the cage. As an adult I've figured out how to fly back and forth but the littles might find it a bit harder. In regards to the ads, we haven't come across anything inappropriate yet and we've watched quite a few. Thanks for producing such a beautiful and quality app. We'll keep playing it and look forward to future upgrades
