Yeah, the XP Tome Godly, Elixir of Wisdom Heroic/Godly, Chromatic Elixir Heroic/Godly appear to very difficult.

    The first challenge,
    "Giant Armadillos" and "Undead Sorcerors"
The thing that looks like a giant crocodile or armadillo blocks all your damage to other enemies until they are dead. I think you need to do about 10k+ normal damage in one hit or 7k+ critical to kill it in their color or color of weakness or it takes like 10 or 15 hits (it has armor and reduces lower damage to 1).

The things that look like some kind of undead sorceror or priest causes one of your characters to be unavailable for 2 rounds. That means their passive is still available but you won't do any damage from that character or be able to use the active.

I've generally had to level up my characters (current team is Level 107 Midas, Kind of Gold; Level 120 Snow Queen, Regent of the Ice; Level 100 Rose Red, Lady of the Flame; Level 111 False Prince, The Mad Knight; plus whatever friend I decide on). Phoenix Prince was pretty useful for dealing damage on the undead sorcerors.

The major challenge is the balloon-looking like boss. It's gross that it has like 1.5+ million health and does like 75% of my health in damage. In the Chromatic Elixir, at least I know the boss is Water/Blue, I can change my enchants. With the Elixir of Wisdom, this guy is purple (dark).

I'm half-tempted take out the False Prince and level up Goldilocks, Master of Bears for a while. I've currently got her around level 65 and enchanted with a +7% Chromatic Elixir Enchant (which I got from a Heroic Elixir).

I put in a friend's Guinevere, Queen of the Round, level 118 and lasted longer but I think the undead sorcerors take more links and I ran out of links against the boss.

Currently my plans is to max level via grinding for Midas and False Prince and then start working on Goldy before I spent any more stamina on the harder quests.

If I'm bored, I can also farm all the free characters to get my Skill Level up / lower Active Skill cool down.

BTW, I expect Dragon Prince to start next week...

Most big bosses (like Dragon Prince, etc.), you're trying to find some combination where you have enough resistance and you get enough healing from hearts and via character and maybe a lucky block or a damage reducer so you stay alive long enough to do some damage.

Unfortunately there aren't enough rounds to build up the actives (unless you take some damage in earlier rounds?)

    AUTO-HEALERS:
Best - Guinevere, Queen of the Round (160 health x links recovered)
    Good - Most-evolved Druids (8x their level)

    LINK RESTORER / LINK GENERATOR
Best - Snow Queen, Regent of the Ice
Good - evolved versions of Lancelot / Red Riding Hood / Jack

    DAMAGE MITIGATION / REDUCTION
Best blocker: Fairy Godmother, Granter of Wishes (40% block passive)
Best damage reduction: Rapunzel, Queen of the Tower (40% damage reduction, active)
    Good: Storm Sorceress (20% active)
Good: Shadow Hound (30% block passive)

By my calculations, even with characters of about 3k health/level 120 (x5) and a Goldilocks 27% resist, I think I could survive only two hits.

    kharmander and piple

    kharmander,

You can install Fable Age, put in your referral code, and delete and repeat ;)

    To Piple:

I won vs. the Elixir of Wisdom - Heroic level with a lot of luck last night.

The battles you get are the luck of the draw and if you get Giant Armadillos / Undead Sorcerors off the bat, you are SOL.

My Goldilocks is level 70 currently -- and while the resistances (20% base + 7% elixir enchant) help a ton to reduce damage, she's nowhere near the amount of health and damage she needs to have.

    My heroes are currently
    L107 Midas, King of Gold
L120 Snow Queen, Regent of the Ice
L100 Rose Red, Lady of the Flame
L115 False Prince, The Mad Knight
+friend L120 Phoenix Prince, Lord of the Ashes

The round I won, I had hellhounds (or devil dogs) and let one hit me. Ouch! 11k-ish damage. Did another 7-8 turns with the next 3 battles of armadillos and undead sorcerors.

Against the boss, I had a lucky block or two and if I had not beaten it on the turn I did, I would have died. The boss does 9999 damage every round. (I still think if I have a L120 Goldilocks with 27% resistance, I'm only taking ~7300 damage per round and can survive two hits if I have all L120 characters fully potioned == more than 3000 health per character).

    Legendary Character Battles (spoiler)

    I. The False Prince
    Fire hero

    Key abilities:
Turns one heart gem to Dark
Uses remaining heart gems to increase damage
    Attacks every turn

    Suggested team:
    1. L90+ Shadow Hound (alternate: Fairy Godmother)
    - Passive: Blocking (30%)
    - Active: Heart gems to Water gems, healing slightly
    PURPOSE: Stats, blocking, healing

    2. L65+ Huntsman, Warden of the Ice or Lancelot, Seeker of the Grail
    - Passive : +18 links per water hero
    - Active: destroy Nature gems, restore 2 links per gem destroyed
    PURPOSE: Small linker

    3. L65+ Mountain Dwarf Master
    - Passive: +150% more damage for Water burst gems
    - Active: change Heart gems to Water burst gems
PURPOSE: Critical bonus / support / heart gem destroyer / lore bonus

    4. L65+ Apple Witch Queen
    - Passive: +4% critical chance per lawful hero
    - Active: 18x Water strike
PURPOSE: Critical bonus / support / lore bonus

    5. L100 Rose Red, Lady of the Flame
    - Passive: +20% critical
    - Active: 30x Flame strike
    Is Lawful
    PURPOSE: Critical bonus / support

    II. GOLDILOCKS
    Water hero

    Key abilities:
Every water gem taken in reduces links by 3
    Attacks every other turn

    Suggested team:
    1. L80 Storm Sorceress (alternate: Rapunzel, Queen of the Tower)
    - Passive: 35% Water Resistance
    - Active: 20% damage reduction
    - Enchantment: Water resistance, the more the better!
    PURPOSE: Resistance, damage reduction

    2. L120 Snow Queen, Regent of the Ice
Passive : +12 links restored per critical
Active: reduce enemy life by 25% of current
PURPOSE: Link restorer, main source of damage

    3. L100 Rose Red, Lady of the Flame
    - Passive: +20% critical
    - Active: 30x Flame strike
    PURPOSE: Critical bonus / support

    4. L118+ Guinevere, Queen of the Round
    - Passive: heal 160 health per link restored
    - Active: for next 5 rounds, restore 12 links per round
PURPOSE: Healer (the best) / link restorer

    5. L90+ Epic Brownweave Bear (alternate: L100+ Midas, King of Gold)
    - Passive: restore 1 link per Water gem taken in
    - Active: restore 25 links
PURPOSE: Brownweave Bear: Stats, Less links lost per Water gem and some links restored; some healing in conjunction to Guinevere.

For Midas, his fully restore all links also acts as a full heal (or if you manage to get a L120 Rapunzel, L100 Rose Red, L120 Midas, L120 Snow Queen, it’s most of a full heal).

    III. Dragon Prince
    Nature hero

    Key abilities:
Every Nature gem results in healing of 20000 health
Attacks every turn for around 10683 Nature damage

You should try to get to 50-60% Nature resistance and as high block as possible.

    Suggested team:
    1. L90+ Epic Dragonlite (alternate: L80 Ivy Shaman)
    - Passive: +14% critical chance [Ivy Shaman: 35% Nature Resistance]
    - Active: Poisoning tooth (3 rounds to cool down/build up) / Poisoning Fog -- this counters the healing ability of the Dragon Prince
    - Enchant: Nature Resistance

Ivy Shaman's poisoning fog neutralizes the Dragon Prince's healing ability as well as the Dragonlite's.

    2. L80+ Rapunzel, Queen of the Tower
Passive: if you take damage, turn 3 random gems to burst gems
    Active: 40% reduction of damage

    3. L120 Snow Queen, Regent of the Ice
Passive : +12 links restored per critical
Active: reduce enemy life by 25% of current
PURPOSE: Link restorer, main source of damage

    4. L100 Rose Red, Lady of the Flame
    - Passive: +20% critical
    - Active: 30x Flame strike
    PURPOSE: Critical bonus / support

    5. Support role
    Will depend; you could try:
    L110+ Midas, King of Gold
L100 Red Riding Hood, Tamer of Wolves OR Lancelot, Seeker of the Grail OR Jack, Slayer of Giants
L110+ Guinevere, Queen of the Round
L110+ False Prince, The Mad Knight

Midas and Red/Lancelot/Jack are for links. Midas is also a huge tank.
    Guinevere is for healing.
Mad Knight adds 8% critical chance and 200% critical damage; his active reduces link usage.

    IV. Phoenix Prince
    Fire hero

    Key abilities:
Every Fire gem results in 300 damage per character
    Attacks every turn

    Suggested team:
    1. L90+ Crystal Phoenix (alternate: L80 Inferno Enchantress)
    - Passive: Fire resistance (30% Crystal Phoenix, 35% Inferno Enchantress)
    - Active: (don't think you want to use this) turn 10 random gems to fire gems; Inferno Enchantress: turn water gems to heart gems
    PURPOSE: Resistance (and stats)

    2. L75+ Fairy Godmother, Granter of Wishes / L75+ Epic Shadow Hound
    - Passive: Blocking (40% for Fairy Godmother, 30% for Shadow Hound)
    - Active: Full heal (or turn heart gems to water gems, healing slightly for Shadow Hound)
    PURPOSE: Blocking and healing

    3. L120 Snow Queen, Regent of the Ice
Passive : +12 links restored per critical
Active: reduce enemy life by 25% of current
PURPOSE: Link restorer, main source of damage

    4. L100 Rose Red, Lady of the Flame
    - Passive: +20% critical
    - Active: 30x Flame strike
    PURPOSE: Critical bonus / support

    5. L118+ Guinevere, Queen of the Round
    - Passive: heal 160 health per link restored
    - Active: for next 5 rounds, restore 12 links per round
PURPOSE: Healer (the best) / link restorer

    Godly quests

The godly quests are similar to the heroic quests except the end boss does a lot more damage [Godly=15000, Heroic=9999].)

I think what I'd be tempted to do is get Chromatic Elixirs and get either level 5 (legionnaire) or 6 (legendary) enchants for this.

I calculate if you have Goldilocks, Master of Bears and all four characters at 7% or higher resist all, you should be at 48%, so if you have all level 120 characters and all potioned out, you should be above 15000 health. I've largely been using friends' Merlin level 120 for their damage boost passive and Warmth active. Guinevere would also be a good choice with healing passive and Meditation active.

And I was pleased I was getting characters to over 30. Should I start grinding old missions or something? It's getting rather hard.

Disclaimer: I haven't spent any money in buying fable stones, but you do have to be super-patient.

Yes, I found that I did a lot of grinding of Midnight Passage of Wicked Witch. Early to mid game, Marksmen and Savages and Master Alchemists are really useful. If you can, you need to evolve the character i.e., Archer becomes Ranger becomes Marksman. You also can get Elf Lords for free. I got all my Marksmen up to level 5 and then sold the Rangers to get a free Midas, who is pretty good.

That gets you through to hard quests and if you can get level 50/60 heroes, hard quests should be okay. I saved up enough as in 20 fable stones to get Rose Red. Then the next hero that's really worth it is Rapunzel for 40 fable stones. Although I don't know what the probability of the war princess draw is when it's that week.

You'll want to also get the freebie heroes like Siren, Sorceress, Witch, Shaman, Sea Captain, Plundering Pirate, and then also Castellan/Belle/Wicked Fairy + Friar Tuck/Sheriff of Nottingham/Little John + Huntsman/Mountain Dwarf/Apple Witch teams. Those teams have lore bonuses = extra health and also go up to level 100.

Then you'll want to save up fable stones and get some decent heroes. And then finish all the available content = Book 23.

When the appropriate legendary quest comes up, you can try to get that character. Those are probably the THIRD hardest quests. It's about getting resistances and matching abilities.

The two hardest quests are the Chromatic Elixir/Elixir of Wisdom/XP Tome quests in heroic and Godly.

The heroic version, it's hard to even be all level 100 characters. The boss on that, as I noted, does 9999 dark damage. The godly boss does 15000.

To get to the legendary quests, I was doing a ton of grinding on the chapter 23 boss / Royal Crypts... looks like a Wraith Queen or Banshee Queen or something. You get probably like 35-40 x 500 experience tomes plus usually one potion and some keys.

I lucked out and got matched with some guy with a level 100 Epic Dragonlite today and beat the Dragon Prince for like the 5th time. Only took about 25 minutes instead of around an hour with my normal team.

IMHO, you'll definitely want access to Snow Queen, Regent of the Ice.

These other heroes in the rare draw are good / very good / great:
    - Merlin is very good
    - Rapunzel is very good
    - Guinevere is awesome
    - Snow Queen is awesome
    - Rose Red is good
    - Fairy Godmother is awesome
    - Shadow Hound is good

Cinderella, especially the evolved form (Princess of Crystals) is good in a limited way.

Her passive (+30% Attack Water heroes, +25% life Water heroes) only benefits Water heroes and her active of converting heart gems to water gems with some healing is okay. She's pretty useful against the False Prince legendary quest. Her bonuses are better the more water heroes that you have, so she would probably replace a Snow White, Master Sorceress.

Here are the situations where Cinderella is great:
    - any fire quest (e.g., Elemental Spirit Quest: Elixir of Fire key quest, Fire Lair, Princess Belle, Castellan of the Beast, Great Wicked Fairy, Sea Captain, Witch, any quest in Aladdin's fable, etc.)
    - False Prince legendary quest (anything that removes or changes hearts and provides healing is very useful against the False Prince)

However, since she only goes up to level 100, she's not as strong as some of the other heroes that go up to level 120 and some of the better heroes have useful abilities in many circumstances or "not just with a water team." For instance, Snow Queen, Regent of the Ice gives you 12 links per critical (passive) and 25% of remaining health removed (active). Which means I was popping Goldilocks for over 6 million health and Dragon Prince for over 7.6 million health on the first implosion. That's huge damage. Fairy Godmother, the Granter of Wishes is +40% block (passive) and full heal (active) -- very useful with any team.

So I should probably stick with Rose Red and Rapunzel for now. Been grinding them some levels. Right now I'm using Snow White, the Elite Sorceress, Rose Red, Siren Maiden and Queen Rapunzel.

I got Siren Maiden a little late so I haven't found much use for her.

Snow White, the Elite Sorceress I think goes up to level 35 and you can evolve her into Snow White, the Master Sorceress (just check what materials you need and where they line up for daily quests).

Rose Red and Queen Rapunzel are good (Rose goes to level 50, around there she's better than the Red Marksman and then evolves to Rose Red, Lady of the Flame and max level=100; Rapunzel goes up to level 120 and is very useful in many circumstances). Her active is the best damage reducer in the game. Cinderella is worth leveling up as you'll use her for various quests.

False Prince is probably 8 weeks away. Castellan is next week.

Yes, definitely need to level up heroes to make progress. It's kind of intuitively obvious, but this is worth noting:

When you get beat or hit by an enemy, try to watch the amount of damage they do. If they do more than your health, then you only have certain options:

    - kill them before they hit you
    - increase your health via potions and leveling up
    - increase your resistances and/or blocking

For instance, in the Mountain Dwarf, Heroic quest, he does somewhere around 12400 Water damage and you have a 4 turn count down.

Even if you max out all your heroes, it's not likely you'll do something like 1000000 or so damage in 4 turns, so you need to take the hit. So you'll need some combination of resistances or 0% and more than 12400 to beat the Heroic Mountain Dwarf quest.

Just for rough math, you'll gain something like at least 12-13 health per level, and fire heroes gain the least health but the most power and water heroes gain the most health and the least power.

So let's say you have Midas, King of Gold at level 120 and max potions = 3500 health, and then the three Robin Hood lore guys -- Sheriff of Nottingham, Friar Tuck and Little John and say a friend who has a level 100 Jack, Slayer of Giants and around 2500 health just for round numbers.

It turns out you'll need level 75 and about half potioned out for all three heroes or somewhere around 1200-1500 health to be safe.

There are definitely inflection points where once you level over the minimum amount, it gets a lot easier to deal with the enemies.

Still at the point where those big powerful attack enemies (the ones with a ! next to the countdown) can take me down in one hit, but everything else is fine, barring bad luck. So I've been going back to the highest book I can reliably do, and grind books there.

Well, if you're talking about the "Nature Spirit" or "Fire Spirit" or "Water Spirit" (the end bosses on the elemental elixirs), there are certain bosses including those who are supposed to be 1-hit-kills. Nobody can survive 999999 damage ... maybe if you're lucky you block them. The guys with the keys starting in Wicked Witch do a lot of damage, maybe 12000-13000?

Another way to level up is to generate enough coin to buy stuff in the Daily Shop. The weekend stuff is especially good and very costly (like the Big Nature/Fire/Water Tomes).

The biggest "bang for your buck" (well, stamina) is in general going to be the bosses, the final stage of any fable. You have to spend 2 extra stamina but you get 2 extra battles = potential treasures. The Dwarven Vault on the weekends also gives you a ton of gold if the heroes are strong enough to handle it.

The Daily shops (especially Thursday) offer quite a few potions so getting more health/power that way is pretty efficient. Experience is still probably the most important for increasing health/power. Evolving slightly increases health/power and increases the max level.

And if you've done all that, you can try to get multiple of a hero to do a "skill merge" to increase their skill level = decrease cooldown.

I've decided that "I'm playing Fable Age too much" if I get multiple King Midases.
