Since we have chromatic today I wanted to look back at this recent discussion but it wasn't clear whether it applied to both Legionnaire AND Chromatic. I've managed to beat Chromatic once but that was it. Mainly need to know whether it is indeed always a water boss.
The Align-Crit team (Apple Witch, Little John, Castellan) are pretty good overall, on mono-align teams. The problem with mono-align teams is that they're best served by being mono-color teams as well, that way you get the most synergy (Briar Rose, for example, doesn't do much for a mono-align team if there aren't any other fire besides her and Castellan). At the end of the day, you've gotta decide if you want that boost in crit. A full mono-align team with a align-crit guy has a good chunk of crit (total 16% crit chance, plus whatever enchants and other passives you've got. If you get two Little Johns (one as a friend), you can get up to 32% crit. Sexy.) Lawful teams can mix Apple Witch with the Fire Swordmaster for a 28% crit, before adding enchants and others. Put in a Snow Queen, watch your links last forever. Oh, and 18x attack isn't really anything to sneeze at. It's a decent amount of damage. No GotB today makes me sad. Guess I'll farm for more Little Johns.
Just beat Chromatic again, so to answer my own question, the boss is not always water there. Mine was nature, fortunately for my fire biased team! 4% all resist versus the 8% I got last time though
I hate to beg, but if anyone has an unused device that can still refer, I only need a couple more for a thrushbeard. Thanks in advance.... ID: mFS3s8WBg9
I just started and my reward was a 5 star Snow White - not sure what I'm doing yet but I like the fact that they have the story background on the characters. I hope we get more story/background on some of more uncommon fables/myths as the game continues.
Nice starting reward, mine was only a four star :-( I am sure you will work it out pretty quick, the trick is characters that work well together. Reading a few of the posts should give a good head start and there is some very knowledgeable forum members here that can give some tips when you start getting a few more characters
Welcome, and I like the name. I assume the 5* Snow White was Queen Snow White, and not Snow White, the Master Sorceress? We've got a wiki going on here, which should help with questions about monsters and such. I need to put some time into more dungeons and teambuilding advice (most of mine has been just writing on the forums, haven't really written a solid guide yet). Main thing to do is start building up a team. Keep an eye out for heroes that work well with Snow White (either forms, you'll want blue heroes). To help you get through the first few books, and really establish a strong team, I suggest looking for Enchantresses/Mages (for resists), Rangers/Marksmen (for Crit), and Squires/Guards (for offensive/defensive boosts). You get about 2 rolls a month, but you'll get a lot more in the beginning when you're blowing through books one after another. Remember, right now, it's most important to save up your stones for a roll! Additionally, remember to roll at the right time. Rates for the "featured" heroes (Currently the Rulers, which you already have Snow White, I think) are boosted on Saturdays, and there's sometimes a special event on Thursdays (this week is Fairy Godmother) that'll have boosted rates for 5* heroes (Merlin, Fairy Godmother, Snow Queen, etc). Don't pay mind to the hours listed on the Oracle screen, those count down to the end of the current drop rate period, not the overall lifetime of the special. Overall, it'll be a while before you can take on the Legendary Fables, if you're going non-IAP, but it's possible to do it, with some good luck. It just takes some smart team building, and strategy.
Just to append a couple of things here: 1) If you see anything missing on the wiki that you know, feel free to add the info in! While we've tried for as complete a listing of heroes as we can get, there's still plenty to be added. 2) The random special draws (Merlin, Fairy Godmother, Rumpelstiltskin, I believe) are not available in the regular rare draw, and their appearance happens at some point during the week--I've seen it on Wednesdays, Thursdays, on Fridays, so if the pop-up tells you one of those is coming this week, keep an eye out. (More specifically, watch the time remaining on the main draw event--that counts down until something in the draw changes again, whether that's the addition of a new hero, increased drop rates at the end of an event, or the changing of the event itself.)
Thanks for the information Popfaec. I'm going to try it in about 20 minutes (need 2 more stam), so I'll make a post on what I encounter and how it goes. Chromatic is a pretty awesome elixir, so I'd be happy to pick up one or two. Goes well on a Goldilocks.
On that note, my notes for chromatic: This is only for my particular encounter, and I have not run it more than once, so I can't say if it is the standard set: Battle 1: 1x Water Wolf (5 turn counter) 1x Nature Wolf (4 turn counter) Both had high HP, other than that, I killed them before they attacked me. Battle 2: 3x Nature Lich (2 turn counter) 1x Water Lich (3 turn counter) Nothing to say. I area attacked, and then Phoenix Prince took out the remainder. Battle 3: 2x Water Wolf (4 and 5 turn counter) Wolves hit for about 11k. OUCH. Battle 4: 1x Nature Defender 1x Nature Lich 1x Water Lich I goofed up on this one, wasn't paying attention and a turn of attacks went wasted. Whoops. I blame RWBY. Anyways, Lichs will "Seal" characters for 2 rounds when they attack, seems to be random which one. Nature resist will help. Armor beast has about 10-12 HP, so two rounds of attacking it at 1 HP per turn will kill it. Too bad those Lichs are kicking your butt in the mean time, right? Hope for a crit, or spend a lot of link to kill 'em. Once the defender dies, the lichs are weak. ROUND 5, FIGHT: Boss round, big poofy guy, don't know what to call him. Elixir spirit? Has a lot of life, and a lot of armor. Poison will help for damage, but Phoenix Prince + Damage Booster (Ruby Sage?) is really what got me through it. With 57% resist, the spirit did about 4k damage per hit, on a 1 turn counter. Nothing special besides that, though. Pure "Tank and spank" for those familiar. All in all, I had to spend a stone due to my screw up on battle 4, but I feel confident that I could manage it stone-free in the future. (Angeline is gonna chide me for doing that, I know it). My team: Max Briar Rose (6% Nature resist) Max Ivy Shaman (10% nature resist) Level 58 Ruby Sage (no potions, 5% nature resist) Level 100 Phoenix Prince (max potions, 144 increase in power, and 13% increase in crit damage) So, with Phoenix Prince, I was doing around 15k damage per turn with the boost. Since this is affected by defense, you're gonna need a lot more to get through the Defender in one turn. Probably rely on a crit or something. Phoenix Prince will ALSO not make the final spirit a cakewalk with his active. It'll boost the damage you do for a while, but it's not a "Low HP, High Armor" kind of boss. It's a pure tank. Probably best used for stage 4, where you need to kill the Guardian.
Raistallin - I have to say, you got REALLY lucky. I usually get at least 2 rounds with the Defender(s) + Liches - that's why I run with Gepetto (for +75 links) and Snow Queen/Rose Red for link regen.
Two battles with Defenders would kill me for sure. One round is manageable, if I'm paying attention. So, yeah, really lucky. Thanks for the info.
That's the Elixir of Wisdom. Has anyone found a good use for this yet? I have yet to find a reason to justify using it over Chromatic or Legionnaire.
Based on my knowledge of the game so far, there are only 4 levels of skillups, so each skill can only go down by 4 turns. Having another few turns cut off that could help when you're waiting for your skill to come up so you can do damage to the boss (Phoenix Prince, maybe one of the Poison characters for the Dragon Prince, etc). It's all situation anyways, right?
