It's a little tricky but you can double click (I think instead of click hold like everywhere else) to get his details where it shows him as a drop. 35% life to water and 50% after evolving. Can't remember the active (half damage taken for a turn maybe). I just pocketed him.
You can find information about him here. If you want to make a tanky team, blue is the color to do it with. With Plundering Pirate and Big Bad Wolf, you get a pleasantly hefty boost to HP (not sure if it is additive or multiplicative, either way not bad), and your other 3 slots can be used to add power (Thrushbeard? Charming?) and other useful stats. And his active works pretty well with that tanky-team feeling. So, yeah. He's not a bad pick up at all.

My fault for not reading closely enough but what's up with the 2 gem experience book store item today?! I always automatically buy all experience items without much thought and am down 2 gems for some low level books (though apparently a lot of them).
Occasionally they run specials for items sold in the Daily Shop. A few weeks ago you got keys for 2 FS; this time it's Experience Books.
Yes I've seen that with the keys before and understand the unusual currency for that I guess, but this was odd for just experience books.
Yeah, for 50k XP, even if it is generic XP, 2 FS is just way too expensive. I could understand 1 FS (I wouldn't go for it, but I could understand it), but 2 is nuts. At a non-IAP rate of 10 FS per month, that's 1/5th of your buying power for a month on something you can farm up in a day if you manage Guardian of the Books well enough.
I really want to invest more time in this game but if I have to wait yet another week for a random drop chance in order to upgrade the guys I need to progress farther in the game I'm probably done.
