No, I don't recall seeing Merlin, Fairy Godmother, or Rumpelstiltskin available for purchase after finishing their books.
Is it possible to purposefully farm for drops like the Green Marksman or is that just trying to get lucky with draws?
Sorry for the late reply. We're working on putting together a list of what can drop where over on the wiki, but we don't have that information. I believe I've seen Guards and Dwarfs drop, but don't remember seeing the Archer/Ranger/Marksmen show up. Draws seem to wildly vary on what shows up, for some reason I've been getting a lot of dwarves lately. Don't know if Blue Tea has a rotation on that, or I am just unlucky. (When I first started, every other pull or so would be a fairy, and now they're fairy-ly rare) Archers do appear fairly often from the friend rolls, from what I remember, so it shouldn't be too long of a wait. If you post your entire box, I'll see what I can suggest in the mean time.
I am nearly certain that I got my Archers from the story books, but unfortunately, I couldn't tell you which books. As for the draws, pretty sure it's truly random. Before, fairies seemed much more likely, but I think that the drop rate was adjusted from each fairy with a separate skill being a different drop to all fairies being factored as a single percentage. (That makes no sense, so let me give an example: say we have 4 1*-3* heroes that are not fairies, and 4 different skills that a fairy could have. I think the old way, a fairy would have been 4/8 draws, or 50%, whereas the new way, a fairy would be 1/5 draws, or 20%. Also keep in mind that I'm pretty sure the draw percentage is weighted by star, so 1* heroes would be much more frequent than 3* heroes.) And Raistailin, that pun was terrible and you should feel bad.
I've updated the wiki with some initial information on the beginning quests, and I am intending on building out what drops are possible. If anyone has had any luck data mining from the application, please let me know what you've found, I haven't had much luck myself. I will be trying to build out a list of drops from quests this weekend, but it's slow going, as you would expect, so don't hold your breath. Feel free to help, especially those who're working their way through the books! Knowing what the drops are is a big help for all levels. (Also, eventually I'd want to build out a listing of what enemies you encounter in a level, and maybe even HP (though that's difficult without data mining). Any and all help with that is appreciated!)
Thank you so much, I appreciate it. It seems like I'm pretty late to this party and people have already moved off this game. Sorted by Element: 5* Frog Prince 4* Princess Ivy 4* Water Mage 3* Sorceress 3* Plundering Pirate 2* Water Elf 4* Princess Briar Rose 3* Fire Enchantress 3* Flame Mage 3* Fire Elf Lord 3* Fire Squire 2* Flame Apprentice and I have six Fairies with various useless skills
My opinion is that until you build out your green draws, you should actually go with a Fire team. You have some pretty decent draws here for putting a beginning team together. Fire Enchantress and Flame Mage are both resists, but they have different passive names so the resists stack. A Flame Mage and a Fire Enchantress together give you a total of 50% Fire resistance, which can be really useful for a Fire dungeon. On top of that, you have Princess Briar Rose to boost attack and health, and the Fire Squire has the same critical boost that the Archer/Ranger/Marksman set has. Level that. 3* Fire Squire --> 4* Fire Knight --> 5* Fire Swordmaster, and the latter tops out at level 80 with a fairly powerful active (I have a friend with a Fire Swordmaster, and one hit with his active has taken out some Hard nature bosses) and a 12% boost to critical chance as the passive. Fire Enchantress (whose evolve track is 3* Fire Enchantress --> 4* Flame Enchantress --> 5* Inferno Enchantress) is also a good one to keep around, since her attack ends up decent (not great, but decent), and she functions as a healer. The elves you have are useful for linking, which is pretty critical for the early stages. My suggested Fire team would be Princess Briar Rose, Fire Enchantress, Fire Squire, and Fire Elf Lord. Your Water team has the makings of a tank team in terms of resists, health, and actives. I assume you mean the Frost Archmage instead of Water Mage, since that's the 4* Water mage type, but do correct me if I'm wrong. Between the Frost Archmage and the Sorceress (3* Sorceress --> 4* Rain Sorceress --> 5* Storm Sorceress), you have 55% Water resist. Add in the Plundering Pirate, and you have 35% more life for an all-water team, which is not insignificant. The Pirate's evolved form has 50% more life for water heroes, so keep that in mind as well. The Sorceress and the Pirate both have damage reduction actives, which can also help. Again, the Water Elf is good for linking, at least until you get a Lancelot. Unless you plan on leveling the Flame Apprentice in order to skill merge her with the Flame Mage, I would sell her. As for the fairies, they are only useful for skill merges, so keep that in mind if you start running out of hero inventory space. As far as I know, book 23 is the last book for now. The last I heard from BTG is that they were developing new enemies for books 24+, so they're not available yet, but in the works. If/when they do unlock, I somewhat expect them to look a bit like the elixir quests/Fableton Library, but I could be wrong.
Anyone else struggling to get the pirate to drop in the current special quest? Done it on hard about 6 times with no joy...
The 15-stam quests (Limited Quests / Starter Quests) are pretty low drop rates, corresponding to the low Stam required to run them (in comparison to, say, the 25 Stam for other quests). I believe when the Pirate first showed up, it took me about 12 runs to get him. No indication of what the drop rate is though. That's all server side generated.
I did notice that I had cleared all levels on some prior occasion, so I probably just got really lucky this time. The RND gen is a nasty bitch goddess. ;-)
