    Hi,

I'm curious if other devs have experimented with changing the category of their app and what effect (if any) it has had on sales.

For example we originally put [app]Hi, How Are You[/app] into the games -> arcade & action categories, but due to the heavy competition it fell out of those charts (top 100) pretty quick. The easiest games category to stay in (or cling on at the bottom in our case) seems to be the games -> kids & family categories. This move has not affected sales (same decline), but I wonder if it's hurting since most gamers are probably not looking in the games -> kids & family categories?

Our game at heart is arcade/action, but it does fit the other categories to a lesser degree. I noticed other companies also use the same strategy (even the big name companies!).

I'm curious if any other devs/gamers have any thoughts on this?

    thanks
    Steve.
