Couldn't stand them personally,Aralon had good controls Shadowlands didn't,You can't really break controls by allowing us to customize them anyway so it's a win-win.Have you played the alpha?I mean shooting and looking around is clunky as hell.
To be fair i havent played the alpha but 'presumed' it was much the same as Ravensword Have great memories of last Xmas when Ravensword came out, played that to death over a few days, a great game. Found it shorter than previous games, graphics were stunning but the best game to me is Aralon which seemed to have tons of side quests etc. Been looking forward to a sci-fi 'Ravensword', hope it comes to iOS before Xmas
It's a lot better than Ravensword I would say,Content wise and gameplay wise both.Mech's and hover bike alone make it a lot better than Ravensword. It's a lot longer and the open world is far bigger. The story is better and more intriguing than ravensword and you get companions too...though how useful they are is not clear to me at this stage. It's just a better game overall than Ravensword but probably not on par with aralon, can't say because I haven't finished it yet.
I think you've misunderstood what an alpha build is. What you describe in you're first line as an alpha would actually be a beta build. While an alpha does have certain elements locked in place, it has many, many more elements that will be changed/tweaked/improved/refined. In fact just about any of the issues you pointed out are subject to change in an alpha build. Just about anything can be changed or added to an alpha build if it needs to be.
Well yeah it's probably a beta then, still I hope they'll fix these major issues atleast before adding new features.
Quite a brutal review, but this is just what needed to be said. The controls in Ravensword: Shadowlands were great, in my opinion, and I personally didn't need any changes. However, a way to edit the controls would let players experience everything this game has to offer without having to fumble with the controls to get any gameplay at all. I am most excited for the first-person camera, especially since it was executed so perfectly in Ravensword. I've been looking for a FPS free-roam game for iOS for quite some time, and from what I've seen, this game provides just that and more! I'm a tiny bit disappointed at the animation and graphics style. The layout and characters seem a bit old since they seem to be nearly identical to that of Ravensword's. The running animation feels a bit forced, as if the character is a 500 pound middle-aged man who is late for the midnight release of the next Animal Crossing. However, the interactive world full of mechs and destructible terrain is compensation enough for me. I also can't wait to see the selection of guns and other weapons in the game, and how they'd each work with skills and abilities of the character. Overall, this is the kind of game I stay up until midnight to buy and then play until one in the morning. Keep it up, Crescent Moon!
hmmmm I may be in the minority hear, so excuse me if I am, sometimes I plod around on this forum. Regardless if its a quote/unquote "alpha" or "beta", its still quit clearly an unfinished game. So whats that mean to us as players? Not to expect that the beta or alpha your playing will be the same game upon its release, where at that point you'd rightly be in your place to provide both positive and negative, albeit constructive criticism. I believe if anything, if theres something that feels broken or unusuable, do your best to be thorough and provide good feedback to the dev or publisher. Don't knock the game because you feel one way or have an opinion on whats right. I'm sure the devs are listening and if you can show them your worth listening to, might even change the game for the better. But then again I may be way to positive and altruistic. I personally can't wait for the games release and see what it potentially has to offer. Hoping that it will be one big free playground for me to get lost in! Much love to the devs and fellow forum peeps!
Agreed. I've noted the pros and cons of what I've seen from the alpha on this forum for the sole purpose of letting the devlopers know what I think are the ups and downs of the build so they can get a better idea of what and what not to fix. And one last question for Josh: Jetpacks???
Josh what's the spec for this game. What's the minimum device it'll work on ? Also what ios needs to be installed ? 7 or 8
I'm curious how the battles throughout the game will be. Will it be various rooms to clear or 1 on 1 type shootouts. I'm kind of hoping for the former because there would be so many different variables to consider other than "shoot him before he shoots you."
Probably similar to Aralon/Ravensword, you dont normally have rooms to clear, you can try running. Perhaps this ones different but i reckon it'll be the same REALLY hope it comes out this week or next. Have fond fond memories of i think it was last Xmas when Ravensword II came out and i spent a lot of the holiday playing that non stop ! Surprised if its out on Android first as surely it makes more money with iOS users ?
Maybe because they released the alpha on humble bundle for android? I'm just hoping its a nice free roam world, with life, if that makes sense.
Update: the game "Exile" will be coming this week or next week on android. I dont think if theres a news for ios. But that would be sure next week or this week.
Now i dont know any insider info or anything like that but i personally think it'll come to iOS that final week/day before the app store closes on Monday Dec 22nd. The last few years since i've had an iOS device that final week/launch day has always had a lot of 'heavyweights' appearing before the app store closes, as lots of people will get new iOS devices and iOS vouchers so it makes sense to release it just before Xmas. Might not happen but i'm still thinking we'll see Exiles before Xmas. Again i dont know any insider stuff but its just my view.
I'm very much hoping so. This is one I'm really looking forward to and would be very pleased to be exploring it after Christmas dinner.
Ha ha same here ! I hope it comes out as i'm off to my parents for Xmas where (shock horror) they dont have the internet. So i have to download this before i leave !!
