There's actually no real point in saving up for the rocketlauncher since you can pick one off the peace bots attacking you in the first mission where you get to pilot a mech.
My initial impressions - The graphics are good, and the game is fun, but the world feels a little empty. Maybe that's because you travel long distances on vehicles, but it feels like there should be more interactive stuff in the game. That being said, it has a great sci-fi feel and I like the music.
Found 2 new weapons today at the Nomad Camp. Lots of loot there too and the quest start for the vortex gun, which is fun because 99% of Players will find the Temple much earlier than the Camp...
Radiation Island is probably priced low since IAP are definitely going to be its future. All of the developers are eventually flooded with IAP. The price for this game is justifiable since there aren't going to be IAP.
Ravensword Shadowlands is 15x better than this game in terms of polish and content, and they eventually added IAPs. What makes you think this wont receive the same treatment?
Played this game and completed the 2nd mission (retrieve the medicine). The game is fun, I really like the sci-fi experience while doing my car in the desert. Shooting the peace robot is very hard and not efficiency, I usually approach them and kill with knife. The interesting thing is I actually have more life left comparing with shooting them down with a rifle. The only efficient weapon I like is RPG. I head people saying the storyline is short, that's a pitty as I can defiantly see people will willing to invest more time into it. I still remember in the very first ravensword game that I was trying to escape from the giant in the woods. That's was really good fun.
Why would they do that (regarding IAP's)? They want as many premium buyers first. As that buyer's market slows down, then they'll promote and implement their [initially planned] IAP rouse--I'd think that's the plan. It's like any business: The less info they initially reveal, the easier to make money BOTH ways.
I have no clue why your even brought up premium anything.. Obviously the game is staying premium. I want more content with the game. This is bs waiting 2 years for a pretty looking game and that's it.. I was expecting a si-fi rpg but no rpg only has 7-8 guns, nothing to explore and only a 2-3 hour story... Do you see how many people complaining about a lack of content? They need to give us more.
I'm just extremely upset with crescent moon. I have plenty of games that show mobile gaming isn't a complete mess
Not worth the time or money,Everything is either broken, buggy or unpolished.Combat is weak,A.i is dumb,Gunplay is unresponsive(no recoil animations),Level design is non existent it's just you vs enemies in a bland room,Story is never fleshed and too short to be anything meaningful, characters speak 2-3 lines and just stand there like mannequins,Landscape is empty so exploration is nada too,Only good thing are the mechs which are underutilized too,I can't decipher how it took them 2 years to make this game,Wasted time and resources really. Aralon is their only 'good' rpg with semblance of quality Shadowlands and Exiles have both been huge disappointments. I can only suggest bringing galebooth games back and actually focus on gameplay mechanics instead of laundry list of features which don't form a cohesive whole. Even the graphics are outdated outdoor environments have little to no geometry,Aliasing,Poor texture work and bad particle effects,Animations look ugly as well,Looks more like an early ps2 game with low budget rather than a cutting edge mobile game,Over that it's poorly optimized and drops frames all too often failing to achieve a consistent 30fps crucial for gameplay. The intent should be applauded though since not many would have attempted an open world game on ios and almost none wohld have made it iap free,So yeah they have my respect for that now only if they can create a quality game,I'd rather pay 10-15$ for a quality game than 5$ for a below average one. I mean mobile is no longer an excuse really,Radiation Island costs half as much and is by far the better game of the two,CM need to setp up their game or else they'll be washed away by other devs.
That's a lame excuse for what is, by many counts, an unfinished and/or unpolished, bug-ridden, underwhelming game with little content. That attitude of, "Hey, let's release our game now with lackluster QA and fix it later!" is why 2014 was an absolutely god-awful year for gamers and a humiliating for several previously reputable developers & publishers. And rightfully so. You're part of the problem when you allow for and excuse such business practices which are, at least in the case of big releases last year (speaking generally now, not to Exiles) unfair to consumers and unethical business practices. This is yet another reason I have so much respect for the dev team of FM; they're going to great lengths to ensure the experience is as damn near close to perfect for those of you who will be experiencing the finished product.
Hey all, I do apologize - with a huge size game like this and only one programmer it's a bit difficult to manage (and we probably bit off a bit more than we can chew as usual) We are working on the next update so I will keep you updated as we get closer. You might remember when Aralon and Ravensword came out that there were plenty of bugs and patches - but eventually we got through it. -Josh
mines of mars had excellent presentation, and the first hour or so was superb. too bad they lost that momentum. the story pretty much just stopped all of a sudden, and the rest of the game felt rushed, empty and unfinished. we were promised multiplayer mode in an update, but i guess they decided to put all efforts into exiles instead. just imagine how unpolished it would be if they hadn't done that! i'm a fan of CM and i understand they're a small team. still i can't see the point of releasing games in a state so obviously far from their true potential.
Mines of Mars has nothing to do with Exiles, its a completely different developer - Wickey Ware. The developer lost interest and decided not to continue with it unfortunately - its a bummer because I personally loved working on that game.
I don't think its a huge issue. As josh says they're a small team. Forgotten memories looks great but a fair few people were put off by the long Dev time. Granted a game should be fully complete /bug free when its out but personally I'm happy to give Josh and co a pass as they've sorted out issues in the past with their games. Compared to freemium/promo code beggars and people who leave 5 stars just because of competitons I don't think me being part of this 'problem' is the worst
