I hadn't experienced this lockout since the iPhone 4 era. Time to get a new device or stick to the old backlog (probably the latter). Or could it just be small devs only test on what they have so don’t list other stuff incase it doesn’t work well and gets bad ratings? sebgo Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2010 835 399 63 Male 95% leisure. He replied he had no access to devices on lower versions and he wanted to make sure it'd work on current devices before trying other iOS versions. Another reason is when apps are signed with the latest versions of XCode, support is limited by default, or something along those lines (I'm not 100% sure of this but a dev said I'm kinda on the right track about it), especially if developers aim to make use of more modern features only available in recent iOS versions/devices. So, there's a few factors that may limit compatibility/support, no matter how basic apps are. ste86uk likes this.
