First impression wasn't very good . 1) rockets, shotguns and the hammer are over powered . 2) after you upgrade everything , all you have left to spend your money on is ammo . >.> 3) the non auto aim controls are not very responsive . 4) I get occasional frame lags . Ipod touch 4g . A little disappointed ): but i know you'll make it better Will be waiting for that huge 1.1 update
I'm currently working on an update that will revamp the whole upgrade screen to include new upgrades (besides weapons), descriptions, backstory, and some improved touch sensitivity. Also there will be 4 new playable characters and more that I'll let details about in the near future. 1.1 is gearing up to be a big update ...
After playing for 2 hours, I've decided that I was initially wrong . The other game modes are exceptionally fun esp. When it gets harder / more monsters. Some weapons can use a buff / debuff . Controls are not unresponsive like I said , I just needed to click properly but it could still do some performance tweaking .
Yup, my theory is that this one needs a bit of time time to reveal its strengths. It seems the differences are subtle at first, but it really does play differently than a lot of other dual stick shooters, and that's not a bad thing unless people just want another Minigore (I don't).
Neither do I , minigore is fun when played with a friend but by yourself , it loses out to alot of other better DSS out there . I thought that the first game mode is a little boring (since eventually, you'll only need to buy ammo) but I haven't really played a lot on this mode . I really like the second and last ones . The third mode (rocket) is too easy to win even on elite mode . I see you added Etolis: Arena on current obsession huh ?
New upgrades and turrets coming soon Development of the next big update is coming along well. Besides the 4 new characters and their special abilities, tons of new upgrades will be available and also you'll be able to buy/deploy turrets (might come in handy in a new upcoming game type too). Also, every weapon will have a description (the (i) button) that details out exactly what it does and the best way to use it. The way you use weapons will become a bit more important in the upcoming update. Weapons: Upgrades: PS—if anyone is out at GDC the next few days I can show them how much different the updated experience will be.
Any guesses on what the new game mode will be like? Is that a AA gun in the right corner there? Hmm ... Note: The level graphics are still in progress.
Update 1.2 submitted to Apple. Here's the finally breakdown of what's new/updated: - 4 new characters (Gangster, Rebel Elite, Pirate, and Scientist) each with their on special ability (Rage +35% dmg, constant speed boost, destroyer drone, laser belt) - A whole new game mode called Champion. Defend fleeing civilians and a anti aircraft gun defending their shuttle! - Added a Chaingun Turret and multiple firing laser turret - Added 19 new upgrades (health, speed, damage, etc) for the character, weapons, and turrets - Added health bars to all enemies, civilians, and turrets - Added an enemy targeting indicator - Added option for Rock music and an additional epic soundtrack - Tuned several character animations - Firing point blank now hits targets - Created an Easy difficulty level and removed Seasoned - Fixed issue where some animations not animating when offscreen - Shrunk the City and Chamber maps for faster paced gameplay - AI improvements and speed smoothing - Auto-aim smoothing and better line of sight targeting - Retina Display graphics now applied to the whole application - Multiple performance enhancements - After unlocking secret level data, its is now presented to you immediately - Game hints added - Removed point requirements for all gametypes and lowered them for maps and special abilities - Removed dynamic lights option - Added descriptions to all weapons and upgrades - Camera improvements - And a mountain of other graphical tweaks, bug fixes, and code enhancements
Holy cow, that is a monster of an update! Really looking forward to it. This is such a great and under-recognized genre game. Interesting to note that the dynamic lights option will be done away with...shame that one didn't work out. Probably for the best you're just taking it away though.
