Eternium is an amazingly fun and beautifully crafted Action RPG, reminiscent of the great classics. Eternium stands out from other mobile Action RPGs by its effortless “tap to move” and innovative “swipe to cast” controls, and its player-friendly “no paywalls, never pay to win” philosophy. Drawing signs to cast spells is easy and rewarding. The tap-to-move control is more natural and relaxing than thumbsticks, and it’s also truer to the vintage point-and-click Action RPG experience. The game can be really played for free, as more than 90% of our players do. Purchases are completely optional. Gems, the game’s main currency, can be collected from enemies and quests. There is no limiting stamina or energy. The best things in the game are obtained by playing, not paying. With the exception of a couple of online-only features, the game can also be played offline after the content download completes. Eternium initially launched in 2014, and is actively being improved by the original development team. Through years of polishing, and feedback from millions of players, the quality of the game has steadily increased, making it now one of the highest rated games on the App Store. Enjoy the visceral satisfaction of responsive, fast-paced combat, with spectacular special effects, pleasing sounds, rewarding damage numbers, all set against immersive backdrops and atmospheric, inspiring music scores. Play as a Mage, Warrior or Bounty Hunter, wielding a sword, axe, staff or gun. Level up to learn new abilities and increase your attributes. Battle skeletons, zombies, automatons, aliens, demons, dragons and many other creatures, across four beautifully hand-crafted worlds, or in endless generated levels. Venture into dark caves and dungeons, explore forests, villages and graveyards, lay siege to demon controlled castles, brave snowy mountain peaks, travel to the moon to slay strange creatures among craters and canyons, and beyond, to the deserts, pyramids and jungles of the red planet. Open treasure chests to loot gold, gemstones and battle gear. Equip shiny breastplates, menacing helmets and hoods, spiked shoulder pads, mysterious cloaks or capes. Protect yourself with a shield, or choose to wield two weapons as a warrior. Rescue your tank, healer and ranger companions who will join you in battle. Use their abilities together with yours to create rewarding and powerful tactical combos. Experience a refreshing storyline, filled with interplanetary intrigue and seasoned with funny characters. Hunt your arch-enemy, Ragadam, across the worlds, while trying to uncover and undo his twisted plans. Progress from common to rare, epic and legendary gear. Find gemstones that fit in your armor’s sockets. Craft socketed rings and amulets, and fuse three of them into a higher quality one. Unleash awesome offensive abilities, such as Whirlwind, Shockwave, Arc Lightning or Immolate, control the enemy crowd with Frost Nova, Vortex, Silence, or sneak and assassinate with Smokescreen, Traps and Snipe. Each hero class has access to about 20 abilities (skills or spells), and each of your three companions has four more. The game starts simple, but culminates in a flurry of tactical possibilities at high levels. Once your hero reaches level 70, your experience points go into Champion Levels, which are unlimited and yield steady stat upgrades. Champion Levels are also inherited by your new heroes, so they will have an easier time growing up. Aside from the four story acts, an endless progression of beautiful, randomly generated levels awaits in the Trials of Valor game mode. Please see here for our Privacy Policy. Edit 1: the game is simple, only touch to enemies and your character will attack automatically, you only play skills if you have and try to find items, the gameplay is not so hard. Will continue playing the game. BTW, don't like to take the items of the warriors to the mage. It's.... If you can, maybe take the items of warriors to warriors, items of mage to mage. It will be better. Like the Crafting feature to much. It's so special. Not saying there isn't a good game here, but I'll wait for further info or impressions. I'm getting a Dungeon Siege vibe from the game. There seems to be a fair amount of depth, especially in the loot department. There's even something of a story, and even though the level design is pretty linear, it does reward exploration. As far as IAP is concerned, the game is pretty generous with the premium currency, though clearly there are aspects of the game that are not accessible without paying. Currently I'm doing some grinding to get past a particularly tough area -- we'll see if it's really a paywall. ojtitus Well-Known Member Jul 7, 2010 3,228 5 38 Male Canton, Ohio #8 ojtitus, Aug 13, 2014 Yeah, from what I've played so far this is a pretty fun game. I especially like that this can be played offline once you download the update from in the app. As Squarezero said there some options that you won't be able to use without using IAP but that is to be expected considering the price tag. But again as Squarezero said we'll see if there is a paywall beyond the above mentioned issues. Based Xatu Well-Known Member Aug 27, 2013 1,937 0 0 #9 Based Xatu, Aug 13, 2014 Yeah, I really like this game, too. For anyone wondering about this game:IAP doesn't seem necessary at all, and they let you farm gems by replaying levels. Gear can be bought in the stores with gold, and the items are cheap. Gems are just used for chests and support Nekku Well-Known Member May 31, 2013 1,542 7 38 #10 Nekku, Aug 13, 2014 Last edited: Aug 13, 2014 I don't like it that much. You can actually buy gold and gems to speed up progress which is okay but I don't like the fact that you need gems to open better loot chests, which is pretty much the same as in UO, and I hated it. Sure, you can grind for a couple of gems but the amount you get is fairly low compared to the amount you'll need to open chests. There are also timers for upgrading skills and it takes longer the higher the skill level is. Probably around 24+ hours for the higher levels? The gesture system is cool though as well as the ability to recruit companions which will travel and fight with you. They will also gain exp and leveling up automatically, unlocking new skills. At the end, I can't help but it feels boring to me, especially the environments, so I don't even mind to grind for gems. Just my opinion. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,715 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #11 squarezero, Aug 13, 2014 Wasn't really a paywall -- I just grinded a bit to gain an additional level and one more skill. The levels are also getting more interesting, with more "nooks and crannies" for exploration. The characters also make side comments about where they are and the enemies they are facing. It makes the game feel more like a proper RPG, rather than an arena-based brawler. I also like the fact that the loot is plentiful and complex -- every items has specific enhancement, which makes choosing your gear a tactical decision. Clearly this was made by someone who cared about what they were doing . I ended up buying a $4.99 gem packet to support the devs. It also allowed me to unlock more item space and an additional companion slot. I still have plenty of gems left. My biggest complaint as far as free-to-play mechanics are concerned are the timers for leveling up abilities -- they get longer as you level up and more expensive to bypass. Then again, there is no stamina mechanic, so the game never stops you from, you know, playing . bigjack66 Well-Known Member Aug 5, 2013 664 0 0 #12 bigjack66, Aug 14, 2014 Last edited: Aug 14, 2014 Well it's quite good! I love the design so far, although I've only completed the first 4 levels, so I am hoping there are a variety of environments beyond just the grass areas. I see a few issues starting to pop up for me personally, it feels like mobs are leveling with me which I hate in dungeon crawlers as you never really get a sense of how powerful your characters are in relation to the enemies. My other gripe are of course timers and no way to remove them even with IAP, and chests built around gems. The upside to the game is the combat is pretty damn fun. I love the spell effects and how responsive the controls are. Your character also responds well to stats, upgrades, and loot. This is a tiny detail but I love the spell refresh icons that splash in the middle of the screen, it reminds me of my days back when I played World of Warcraft and would customize my UI with an add-on that allowed me to see cooldowns in the middle of the action rather than having to look spell bars. Its a small touch but very awesome for those times when there is a lot of action going on. There are a lot of different spell options, and plenty of loot slots as well, however I think the game could use a couple of more classes - 2 is a bit slim. This does indeed scratch the Diablo itch, I'm definitely enjoying it a lot! I just can't even get into games that are purely IAP consumable-based, with timers, etc. Cilo Well-Known Member Feb 2, 2010 2,277 0 36 Los Angeles #19 Cilo, Aug 15, 2014 Last edited: Aug 15, 2014 Ok the mobs might not be leveling with my character but man each level requires a lot of upgrades to be decent. Also there's a really nagging IAP ad that you can't turn off, it stays highlighted as a smal icon during gameplay, which is a really odd design choice, quick way to piss a lot of people off. I just completed the first boss fight at the mountain and I have to say this game is completely epic! I thought the graveyard battle was pretty ridiculous, but that beast on the mountain was awesome to see! Can't wait to meet the dragon at the end of act 1! I would easily pay a fair amount for an ad free, timer free version of this. Anyone else playing a Mage? If so which spell layout are you working with? Currently I've gone full frostbolt, and I stack immolate on top of frost nova for lots of damage, but I might switch to blizzard soon. worldcitizen1919 Well-Known Member Jun 27, 2012 1,615 0 36 #20 worldcitizen1919, Aug 15, 2014 Any other control options apart from touch?
