Retro graphics are comparatively sharp. The menus are clear and intuitive. Speaking with locals will provide some hints. A handy colour coded map helps exploration. White=visited areas, Pink=current location, Red=destination. Movement is by resizable D pad, plus single action button for everything else. Story is the usual shermozzle between good and evil. Enter buildings, search barrels, equip etc. Battles are turn-based plus auto combat which seems best for mopping up. Hard to fault much so far. The formation screen does not state which are front and rear ranks, so Left=Front, Right=Rear. Remember to save. Solarclipse and TheSilveryWolf like this. The class choices are interesting. I actually changed after getting to second town , Curious to try somethibg off the beaten path. The elemental rock paper scissors is not what you usually expect. Fire beats earth Earth beats thunder Thunder bests ice Ice beats fire I was unimpressed with magic at first because my fire did little to an ice boss. This is why! I am currently trying a monk-redmage-hunter-wizard team. In this game it seems red.mages can use the weapons of a warrior but is limited to the armor of a wizard. I think I'll just.keep her in front for normal battles and move her back for tough ones. Asp and Son of Anarchy like this. Pretty early on gets an ability, pray, for HP and AP restore, but it doesn't scale. Later on gets a free ability, faith, that restores 150 AP which is pretty good. Doesn't have many attack abilities. But, Double fist is pretty effective and you can pretty much use it all the time because of AP restore. Has Regen and AP Regen abilitie that can be used on anyone, and they seem to last the entire battle! Red mage: can use swords, but will get magic boost from using staves, so by mid.game.its better to equip staves once you have more abilities and AP. Pretty balanced character with enough HP and defense to survive in the front lines with my.monk. Late game gets an all focus, all harden, and a all restore max. The Aether spell is good for.dealijg magical damage when you aren't sure what element to use Archer: not great damage output with abilities but for auto attack is fine. Has some useful skills and immunities. Can use items to double effect later on, which can be taken advantage of with heal sprays especially to make him a secondary healer, or use large tonics to get more AP quickly. The scan skill is really nice to.have on bosses so you know what they are weak to and if you can poison them. Wizard: pretty powerful if you know what element to use. Late game gets a non-elemental spell for a single enemy; not sure if there is another one for.multiple later part.level 35. There are some accessories that help her to be less squishy especially since she should be in the back row. Definitely a strong character mid to late game —gets lots of AP. One too for saving a little gold: sometimes tents are cheaper than inns. This party seems pretty good. I was initially going to do a.blacksmith, monk, medic, wizard but I thought I would be using Auto battle more and switched to have an Archer for better damage. However with as much AP as the wizard gets, and I bet the.medic gets the same and she actually has some.attack.magic so...Auto battle is used more in the beginning. Later on you will rarely.want to use it. Asp likes this. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
