The game is fine, but there are just too many FTP elements to justify the price-tag. DBC awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #6 awp69, Oct 29, 2013 LOL. How many people called this? And that's why I steered clear. It looks like a good game, but with freemium written all over it. Well, maybe I'll check it out now, just to see how unbalanced it really is (especially when it was paid). Joltrabbit Well-Known Member Jul 5, 2012 669 0 0 #7 Joltrabbit, Oct 29, 2013 Sadly, I feel too happy waiting on this as well. I'm getting the same vibe from Echo Prime too... nodoctors Well-Known Member Jul 24, 2009 1,212 28 48 #8 nodoctors, Oct 29, 2013 Okay, so I paid full price for this and I whooped it 100% through all levels within three days or so without paying a penny or watching a single ad. I'm also middle aged with a job, so I'm not trying to imply I stayed home all day playing this thing. I have absolutely no idea what the hell people are talking about with it being some sort of pay wall IAP heavy game. Everything in the game can be had with little to no playtime and it was a simple enjoyable experience when it lasted. If you're going into this expecting it to be broken and unbalanced in favor of in app purchases, prepare to be disappointed. Everything seems blown out of proportion and grossly exaggerated honestly. Check it out for free, I don't regret paying full. Connector Well-Known Member May 6, 2012 15,512 1 0 In the Chatroom http://thechatroom.freeforums.net/ #9 Connector, Oct 29, 2013 I don't understand all the hate in this thread either. Exact-Pscience also said alot of good things about the game. Almost the majority of games are dropping quick in this day and age, it's not just endless runners these days. awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #10 awp69, Oct 29, 2013 Last edited: Oct 29, 2013 He said some good things about the game, but if you go back to the main thread as well as the recent sale thread, you'll see that even he did not like the system in the game where you constantly lose currency or whatever it is you collect during runs if you brush into an enemy. And not to put words in E-P's mouth, but from what he said, it certainly didn't sound like he was recommending the game in the state it was in at the price being charged for it. In fact, it was my trust in E-P's judgement that led me to NOT get this game. So I wasn't trying to be "hateful" in what I posted. I was going by what I heard from TA members that I have come to trust. From the main thread: (Note to EP: I'll take this out if you don't want me to quote you. But honestly, I do trust your views on games and it's why I passed on this one to begin with.) Connector Well-Known Member May 6, 2012 15,512 1 0 In the Chatroom http://thechatroom.freeforums.net/ #11 Connector, Oct 30, 2013 Awp, he also said this. Anyway, I just don't think this game deserves the hate. Almost every good game recently seems to have dropped lately like Space Qube, Blastrax, Incredipede, TEC 3001, Cover Orange 2, Amigo Pancho, Orborun, IW, Galaxoid, and many others. So giving this game all this hate cause of a price drop seems unfair when many games are dropping like flies nowadays. Give the game a try, if people don't like it for some reason then fine, but I still think it is a decent game with nice graphics and gameplay. Of course, I don't like all the freemium riff raff stuff either, but pretty much all endless runners have them, and I think this is a good game to try for free. awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #12 awp69, Oct 30, 2013 Fair enough, but I wasn't really hating on the game for the price drop. I was just pointing out that there were some thoughts that the game should have been free to begin with. But I guess that's debatable. Price drops, yeah. Unfortunately, many games whether with a freemium model or not drop rather quickly. This game has been out longer than some of the other games you mentioned as far as how quickly they dropped. nodoctors Well-Known Member Jul 24, 2009 1,212 28 48 #13 nodoctors, Oct 30, 2013 Wait, so all of the hate stems from a day one kneejerk reaction to the emerald losing mechanic? Yeah, if that was what started all of the hate, disregard it. You get an item within a half an hour of playing that allows you to retain the emeralds dropped, and I only used it half the time given how negligible the emerald loss is, how easy it is to rack up emeralds, all on top of the bonus emeralds you get just for running period. I have all items/weapons and a maxed out character and a few thousand left over emeralds without paying a penny in a half a week's time. This is what happens with kneejerk comments made within an hour of a game's release and when everybody takes it as the word of god... awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #14 awp69, Oct 30, 2013 Well, the post that I quoted was actually several days after release from a forum member who is probably into runners more than anyone on this forum. So, his opinion wasn't just a "knee jerk" reaction. But an educated opinion based on his experiences with other runners including the free one that inspired this, Into the Dead. But, in any case, I'm going to give it a try and see for myself. BTW, where are people getting terms like "hate" from. I haven't seen a post in this thread that says the game is a piece of trash. All I've seen is a few people saying they thought it would eventually be free based on the impressions from the main thread. I don't typically take his opinions as just knee jerk based on his experience in the genre. Yikes. I guess it's a bad thing around here to get to know people who have similar tastes in games and value their opinion. The fact that I kept reading the thread to see others reactions is enough to show that I was still interested enough to see if others thought differently. And when his opinion stayed similar a few days later, that made me decide to pass on the game because we have similar tastes and I can't afford to buy every app on the store.
