The update is being tested as we speak. We'll have it submitted tonight and I'll post when it's in. Apple unfortunately won't give any release times for their review process. So through a few websites we can determine that it'll be reviewed in around 3 days and live on the store. Super excited to give you guys this update there's A LOT of polish that was added.
The Ernie vs Evil update was rejected by Apple today. They have a problem with our trailer being too gory for the store. This is the same trailer they've already accepted and has been up in their store for the last month. Nothing has changed. Unfortunately we're stuck with completely arbitrary changing rules that is the App Store. It's garbage we know and we're working right now to fix everything and resubmit. Thank you for being patient with us.
Ok details are fixed. Apparently Apple was pretty upset we had exploding asses in the trailer (try and find it we'll give you a promo code if you send us a screenshot). It's all fixed hilariously and we're back in review. We'll keep everyone posted as the second time is the charm.
Update: We've gotten rejected a second time. Apple didn't like our censored trailer Third time is the charm and we'll get it through the store, in the meantime check out the extended gameplay video: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel

Now that update 1.1 is out and you guys are digging it it's time to start on the next update. You guys told us what you wanted and we're listening. There are two big things we'll be adding this coming update. 1) Full Game Center integration. Ernie will now have 19 new achievements and an online leaderboard. Here's the list of new achievements: 1) Gold rank every stage 150 2) Silver rank every stage 75 3) Bronze rank every stage 50 4) Gold rank 1 stage 25 5) Beat Priest 25 6) Beat Redman 25 7) Beat Evil Eye 25 8) Beat Scientist 25 9) Beat Bob the Destroyer 75 10) Get a combo of 60 or higher 50 11) Purchase all available upgrades 100 12) Max out an upgrade 75 13) Beat the game 100 14) Only use pistol in a boss stage 75 15) Get the shotgun 25 16) Unlock grenades 25 17) Get smg 25 18) Unlock special laser attack 25 19) Get sniper 25 2) The addition of individual gun meters. This is going to allow for more unique weapons as well as more incentive to switch around while playing. Remember feedback is always appreciated.
Great review by Sanitarium FM: "Goodnight Games (ello chaps, do you ever sleep?) have gone with simplisity in Ernie Vs Evil, that makes it the perfect game for a quick blast, OR a prolonged bathroom mobile phone game session cmon, this is where we really play mobile phone games, anyone who says they dont, reads encyclopedias and wont be reading this review anyway. What stands out straight away is the control system, or as I found, the lack of one, this game is as simple as clicking on the screen to shoot and at the level you want to shoot at. All the while, various enemies come at you from three levels and in waves of difficulty. One of the interesting touchs though is the weapon upgrade system, there are more upgrades than i thought there would be and you can get some really cool things going on during the frantic gameplay, plus being able to selct different load outs changes up how the game plays a little, not much, but as you can see in the pic below, it can get crazy." Check it out.
The next update for Ernie vs Evil has a release date. Update 2 will be on the store June 9th. iOS: - Achievements - Gamecenter leaderboards Both: - Ernie's guns now have individual gun meters so that they charge while not in use. - We have implemented a proper game over screen including Ernie's death animation. - other minor tweaks to enhance gameplay
1.2 Update: The update is on track to be submitted. We're in the final testing phase to make sure everything is cool. The gameplay really expands with the new gun meters, things get far more fast paced! We also have the names for the achievements: Look at That Bling One Short of the Big Time You Got Brown Don't Frown Only 34 More To GO Sacrilegious Da Rockwilder Not in the Eye Dr Strangelove Can You Fix It? C-C-Combo Breaker Black Friday Never Enough Ur A Weiner Pistol Whip Blast Off Bombs Away Skeet Skeet Bang Bang And Boom Goes the Dynamite Penetration
Just to update everyone the 1.2 update is pretty much done and we'll be sending it to Apple today to process. We're on track for June 9th for it to be available.
The 1.2 Update is Live! Don't forget to update and if there's anything you want to see in future versions please let us know. I'll also post the list of the new Medal condition rewards. Since we now have score based leaderboards it's time to get familiar with them. MEDAL CONDITION REWARDS: no barrier damage all barriers are intact no player damage pistol only high combo
So after the success of Update 2 we're going to keep going with a 3rd Update. We'd like to announce that we'll be adding Survival Mode to the game. Survival mode will be entirely score based as the player battles wave after wave of enemies. The difficulty increases over time and the player must rely on skill to build huge combos and get the highest score! We will of course have Game Center leaderboards tied to it. We'll go live with this July 5th!
Survival Mode Update So far in the update, weve been able to fix a few issues and polish up some things. Weve added some visuals to the tutorials to make them a little bit easier to understand. There was also a problem with the game sometimes skipping stages and that problem has been fixed. Right now we are trying to fix bugs regarding with Game Center achievements and more importantly have been working on the new survival mode. A new mode where the main goal is to stay alive for as long as possible as the hordes of enemies become more challenging over time. At this point we are working on the spawning and trying to get that right pace and rhythm of difficulty. Everything is still on pace for July 5th!
