the updated has not much new thing to do for those, who already beat the game with 3 stars on every single level. Except buying the new weapon and armor and that's it. There is no new levels or new achievements to us....
LOL... I could complete Mission10's Time Trial with either the Lead Fist (Impact Lv2) or the Artemis (Homing Lv2), while almost all other equips are only upgraded once or still with the basic. Im pretty sure I was only using Overdrive v1.0 during that time. Overdrive can be useless in Time Trial as they slow down spawning of enemies, so i think i was fortunate enough to still just have v1.0, and not having to buy any of the type yet. One of the things i like doing to shave off a few seconds over the course of the run, is to use the grenade when the target is within death range of the grenade damage (basic explosive grenade Arashi). Instead of finishing the enemy off with basic shots, i throw a grenade, and quickly perform a quick reload that gives a damage bonus while the grenade takes care of the enemy. Obviously, I ignored destructibles to make sure i make the time limit. The easiest mission i find to farm at that point that gave the most credits was the 10th mission (Alphetekk Production). After farming for Uppercut (lv3 impact, coz it was the cheapest level 3 weapon, and a weapon type that does particularly well for that mission ), farming went ultra smooth. Im pretty sure i was wearing Naked Upgrade for the duration of the initial farm as well, as the extra speed helped with the time trials. I only started buying everything in the shop after i was done with about half the Iron Mode missions in which case everything just gave excessive amounts of credits. So yeah, my aim was to get a Lv3 weapon asap, and the cheapest and easiest to acquire was Uppercut which does really well on Mission10's Time Trials. From there the farm went a lot smoother, and only got better as i got better equips. Hope that helps in any way.
"Planned" grinding. Took me to progress faster than most. Im pretty sure my experience with EPOCH.1 helped with the planning as to which equips to take first, and how to farm where.
hey EP, I've shared my thoughts on the Dual Laser already, what do you think about it? Also have you tried using the Sniper and Burn area weapons since the upgrade? Looks like they've received upgrades as well. I tried the sniper and it worked ok for certain levels, but overall it still doesn't feel too great. I may try to unlock the armor that grants 30% shorter recharge and see if it, combined with the lv 3 sniper and the lv 3 overdrive, actually works, since the barrier is unfortunately just about useless in most later levels (only protects against lasers and standard fire. charge shots, burn area shots, kamikazis, and bombs all go right through, and there's always at least one of them around at all times, usually more.). Maybe the decoy would work?
Thanx EP. Looks like the cheapest tier 3 weapon is over 90,000 so will be a while before I can get it unless there is a big payoff at the end of the campaign. I got the Leach lev 1 and it's helping a lot. The update seems to have made missions a tad easier as well.
^Well, barrier mitigates sniper damage, so i guess that is a plus in itself already. Not sure how useful Decoy is now, but i hated it in EPOCH.1 coz the laser guys start their beams at the spot opposite the decoy which makes it really hard to avoid taking damage. Havent played with the dual lasers much yet, but it does have its uses. Zombies and kamikaze minibots are easily taken care of in pairs, and you can take on other baddies 1v1 with the focused laser. No other weapon class has that versatility.
Yeah it seems the missions are easier now. Leech has been nerfed though. Not sure of the specifics, but Ed mentioned they hit it hard with the nerf stick.
This update was mostly about responding to feedback on the game economy and difficulty. We have plans for updates that will be more interesting to people that have completed all three stars on all maps, but not until sometime next year
Hi Ryan, Just a suggestion on the sniper, can you make it target the head? Seems kinda dumb to have extreme accuracy only to hit enemies in the middle of the chest. Also it would make the sniper more useable, as you could snipe some enemies from behind cover, which is an advantage that would help compensate for not being able to dodge as well when targeting an enemy. Not to mention that headshots are a lot more satisfying than chest shots.
^great suggestion. Or maybe, the aim reticle moves closer to the head until it fills up for a headshot.
That would be great, it would add meaning to that arbitrary power bar. And it would slightly nerf the sniper so you could only snipe an enemy around cover by getting a headshot.
Suggestion for expansion/update: Boss Hunt modes: Princess asks EPOCH for specific Robot parts gathered only from bosses. Make Boss HP x5 of the Iron Mode counterparts, make their avatar look larger, have them deal a lot more damage (1 attack can take out one full bar of EPOCH's HP), and make the battles 1v1. Rewards will be some sort of robot parts, and completing these parts will unlock a new set of weapons... Tier 4 equips maybe? I believe anyone who likes Monster Hunter will really appreciate this idea as well.
Holy crap, EP - have you bugged our office? We have discussed something very similar, but it's not something we're going to move on just yet - we have a bunch of other update work to do first.
