cover will never break from standard enemy fire, but lasers and grenades will ignore cover, while you'll still take some damage from the charged shots through cover I think.
Ducking cover makes you safe most of the time. The game balances it out by design to have you avoiding enemy fire even while ducking.
Yeah, this is correct. Including the charged shots dealing minor damage. In E1 this damage isnt minor in Ultra difficulty though. LOL. And Lasers passing through you is pretty much game over.
yup. Though you do always have 3 cover points to use in E1, but this is probably balanced out in E2 with the new jump/hover ability. But yeah, I've gotten destroyed by those charged shots from within cover. The only time I really use cover much in E2 is for the snipers.
Yeah, in E2, there's as much as 4 cover points in one stage, but you can roll in between the middle 2 as you need to super jump it to transfer between that. I really love the variety they have implemented in E2 as compared with E1. This variety started with E1's Arena missions, and it expanded so much in E2.
Ok E1 Ultra is infinitely easier with the grenade launchers. Those playthroughs a used to take me forever haha
Hey folks, a couple of quick things: - I posted in the price drop thread, if you're interested. - We're glad everyone is starting to really feel out the new strategies in EPOCH 2. - We're working on the next two updates as I type. More news on them very soon.
You mean ones where you jump up and grab on to the railings with 3 dock points in them? Those dont cover you from any damage. Unless im missing something.
That was my thought, but I didn't want to say that in case there was something in the later missions as I haven't progressed very far.
Nice... I may have overlooked that. Was playing around with the Leech 3.0 gadget today, and finished the first 7 Iron Man missions without taking a lot of cover. Tis a little broken i think. 14 seconds of life steal, only 16 seconds of cooldown. Only 2 seconds in between that that i dont heal myself up. Rockets and Concussion grenades are mostly the ones keeping my life up with huge bursts of heal, but the constant stream of burner damage (even when enemies are in cover) makes sure i can tank a lot of damage until the grenade or the rockets are ready to heal me back up to full again. Combine that with Iron Aegis (plating, 675 defense, recharge 30%) or a Polyshield (plating, 720 def, Repair Rate +30) and you are nigh unkillable, as long as you avoid the attacks that deal major damage. Havent tried using a "weaken" grenade yet, coz that might be the edge that could let you tank boss damage as you steal a bigger hp amount with your normal attacks.
I want to see an even higher difficulty level, and a fourth tier equipment sets to balance it out. E1 had 4 tiers of equips, so i expect tier 4 equips to be a part of an update.
Oh and I finally did it. I also have ALL equips bought, including the bugged 2.3 million priced grenade. Im still missing 3 intercepts but that shouldnt be too hard to find now
So with all the weapons unlocked, what are your thoughts on the best ones, and the best boosters/grenades to complement them? Is there any set up that will make the sniper usable?
Havent really used some of my items yet... But here are my favorite setups: 1. The Tank - The Gusher, Iron Aegis, Isuzu, Fat Boy, Leech v3.0 The Iron Aegis makes sure you always have Isuzu to heal a significant amount, and Fat Boy to heal over half your HP bar (of course this isnt true the higher your level goes up as you have a bigger pool of hp). With The Gusher's (burner weapon) ability to deal damage to enemies in cover, and to auto-hit flying enemies (like drones), Leech will always be healing you up. Of course, the Iron Aegis guarantees you have life steal ALL THE TIME. 2. The Anti-Boss/Anti-Sniper - The Melter, Iron Aegis, Neural Amber, Fat Boy, Overdrive v3.0 Snipers enemies are the only non-boss enemies that actually require a specific setup to get rid of them faster. Since you only have a split second to deal damage, Corrosive weapons are best used. Snipers cannot be hit by Missiles or Grenades, so those are there for bossfights. Slow (from Overdrive v3.0) guarantees you stack up damage unto snipers before going back to cover to deal with them quick. For Bosses, with Iron Aegis's 30% CDR (cooldown reduction), you can perma-slow bosses with the slow grenade, and with your Slow from Overdrive, they wont be moving anytime soon. This makes boss fights TOO EASY. ----- The sniper weapons are a little difficult to fit into a build, but it could do well in the perma-slow build. The problem is having to deal with overwhelming mobs in Iron Man mode. I think sniper weapons deal some of the highest damage output in the game, but it is too risky compared to other weapons. Grenade Launchers in E.2 are BAD. Almost useless even. With the new drone-type enemies (the flying ones), they make Grenade Launchers look really silly. You will be emptying clips at them with your grenade launcher hitting nothing but air. Dont know how Uppercut managed to make the strongest weapon class in E.1 almost useless in E.2. LOL.
Interesting. I'm probably going to focus on getting the other electric weapon next. Have you noticed any changes to the weapons from E1 that have been carried over to E2?
Just that the Grenade Launcher is almost useless now. Everything else is pretty much the same, although the chaining weapon in E1 is now a homing weapon, and there is a higher level chaining class. They are the same element though.
Er... been trying the last mission using and im taking a beating. Spoiler without slow, the 3 melee bosses can easily mow me down. Also, if i get hit with one charged shot, i get stun locked til game over. LOL I think i should go back to using slow for this mission. One tip regarding the final mission: Spoiler on segments with more than one boss, after killing the first, Proteus will show up. So it might be a good idea to not kill any yet and get them all to low HP before killing one to call Proteus into the fight. That way, you dont have to fight 2 bosses and Proteus as Proteus sometimes throws a stun grenade at you.
