I seem to remember that and going "phew, thank god I waited." Was it $5 to $3?

$2.99 at launch, dropped to $0.99 within 3 days.

I bought the first game when it was a buck and got far more than a dollar of enjoyment out of it, so all things considered I'm not mad about the sale. I figure buying Epoch 2 at full price just about balances the scales.

No I just checked it was $6 at launch. I thought so, bc I remember looking at the Epoch 2 launch price and going "oh same price as Epoch was"

Looks like it didn't drop to $3 until a month after. Maybe I did buy it full price...

  6. Ahhh, didn't see this thread.

That was quick. So who's going to start the price reduction thread? :p

Sale in just three days after launch, then what - free in month?

Yeah whatever happened to launch sales? Wouldn't that have boosted impulse buying? I like the game and don't regret purchasing it, but this just sucks.

it's funny, because in the app description, they're calling this a launch sale

lesson learnt : early adopters get screwed

I can only imagine the chaos if Oceanhorn dropped in price this week...

But still I'm not that bothered by this, I'm not gonna make this the first refund I've applied for haha. I'm glad I've given them money to buy things they need to survive.

This is one of the best games on the AppStore and I still won't hesitate to buy anything from these guys the day it launches. It would be too hard to resist.

  15. Just call it a pseudo early adopters sale.

this is setting a precident that will hurt them in the long run

how many people who got burned by this will let history repeat?

now every one (well, except the die hards) will wait wait wait for the inevitable sale whenever their next hyped up release launches... they will be FORCED to drop the price because it is pretty clear there are NOT enough die hards buying their game in the first 3-4 days if they're resorting to this sale so soon

The iOS market isnt surprising at this point anymore. It's a huge hit or miss for independent IPs and even great games like EPOCH arent an exception.

For what i've gotten for my money for a day one buy, EPOCH.2's been well worth it and more.

Sure it sucks i had to pay more, but i just wish this game gets more sales through this price drop enough to warrant EPOCH.3 coz the story sure is still open for a conclusion.

A few days for a price drop isnt ideal but it isnt new either.

All i could add right now is to say, GET IT NAO.

Price dropped likely bc they were an app store editors choice. Thats my guess anyway. I hope they r making money...price drop tells me they are not.

  20. I remember one game, forgot what it was, it was for a mid priced premium, there was like 3 of us early adopters on the thread, then, 3 days later, the price dropped to a buck.

The developer was cool, he came into the thread and he said it was cause only 5 people bought it on launch.

I was surprised, wow, only 5 for a good game like this? And ironically, you could tell who 3 of them were, Toucharcade members.

Sometimes I'm beginning to think that no one really cares anymore about launches, cause many threads just fissle out in a day or two here nowadays, guess it's just the sign of the times.
