Different units sound good and factions? Like some where the specialise at range and others at tanking or closer combat ect? Also I love the C&C build mechanics, I never cared for the battles all I ever did was fight enough to hold the enemy off while I build an impregnable base.
We're hoping it will get done this side of christmas, but can't make any promises at this stage - there's a ton of stuff to do.
Thanks. We're going for "much bigger than others" in plenty of other areas too. I posted a dev diary on my blog if anyone is interested in progress. http://www.rubicondev.com/blog/ultimate-war-game-dev-diary-1/
All sounds good, I'm still curious about the base building. Will it be C&C style? Like a base and walls and defences? Or walls you can mount troops on? Maybe guard towers or turrets?
C&C style. I'm a massive fan of Red Alert 2 so any time I can't make a decision, I go with what they did.
I am looking forward to this game! I any of you guys want to pre-pre alpha test this game then go to Rubicon's forum! They are currently(I think)recruiting testers. I hope I am in if I say that I want be tester for this game here on TouchArcade Forum.
Ooo C&C style will be awesome, I just use to build bases and never attacked. I'd build up a base so good that one one could ever get through no matter what they attacked with. Always just wished there were an option to increase attacks and attack strength to test it afterwards. Red Alert 2 was pretty good by my all time favourite is still Tiberian Sun and Tiberian Sun Firestorm. Loved the laser fences and firestorm sections, spiders, orcas and nod planes like ufos. Oh and I hope you have gates! It never actually feels secure unless there's a real gate that operates properly. Age of Empires 2 was my favourite of that type after those.
Went with the Total Annihilation method in the end. Works really nice. Got the AI building a decent base now too. More info here: http://www.rubicondev.com/blog/ultimate-war-game-dev-diary-3/
Firming up early next year now, there's a ton of new stuff going in. The latest feature to get a bump from the wishlist to the design doc being clan support for the online aspect.
Just made another diary entry - they're starting to get some meat in them now. More here: http://www.rubicondev.com/blog/ultimate-war-game-dev-diary-4/ And a screenie:
This game gives me Block Fortress vibes with the feature of having power to run turrets to defend your base but your game is looking great! A insta-buy from me!
