Faction Wars Does anyone seem to think that Faction wars are a little bit finicky? For almost all of today, the faction war was very lopsided to the side of Air. I just checked the standings and now Air is at 49% and Earth is at 51%. This seems to be EXACTLY what happened during the last faction war. Is it just me, or does it seem that these faction wars are rigged? I don't know anyone that would have chosen Coins over Dungeon Progress.
I think it's more as more people log on, they choose. I also don't see why anyone would choose Earth over Air, but eh. However, you're talking to someone who chose Leaf last week. I opened up the last area today
If it continues to go from 49% Air - 51% Earth during the night to 51% Air - 49% Earth during the day, then that would be the same pattern as happened last week.
Nexus of Power, Epic Crown Attack +400 Magic +400 Defense +400 +25% Coin Bonus +25% Dungeon Progress +25% Rare Chance Elements: Air, Water, Earth
Im starting to get really annoyed with arena mechanics... My guy with a Needler, Stonewall, Ursine Ushanka, and Kraken's Carapace lost to a guy with full regular equipment (or at most 1 epic). The guy didnt have the crown by his name which i believe means he doesnt have a boost from faction wars. Lv 15 with 1625 att, 1005 def, 805 mag, and 51% arena strength. If RNG plays that big of a role in arena, then wtf is the point of equipment On the bright side, im happy that theres finally a crystal reward in the arena again
Well, the current arena challenge calls for balanced stats, and yours are not very even. Perhaps your opponent's were, which gave him a decent roll on the old virtual dice.
fight the guys towards the end of the list, they give higher rewards, though are presumably harder to beat. this is also the time id spend faction points on honor and arena strength boosts
Here's the updated list.. I saw the Hero's Testament somewhere but I forgot to take a screenshot of it. I got plenty of chest to trade so don't forget to add me on Game Center. El Brynaj
Dragon lords battle plate 500 defense 250 magic 250 attack Coin bonus 25% Arena strength 25% Dungeon progress 25%
The reason you would pick the coin bonus is because leveling pets require a lot of coin, around level 11 is 200k gold. I had originally picked the fame bonus, but now that i know that there's a character cap of level 20 it seems like a useless choice.
Yeah, I'm guessing people that picked fame are feeling even more silly, now that the Arena top 5% is 1,000 gems. The honor bonus would have definitely helped. Is anyone else leveling the Faction armor? I've got all of my faction items at lvl 13 and it's starting to get ridiculously expensive. 355 gems or 7,100 FP per upgrade.
Good tips Thanks a bunch folks. Lots of very useful information here. If I happen to find anything I'll be sure to post. Gc ID is SupaSwampa. Please add me. I have a ridiculous amount of chests to hand out and only one friend so far.
Yeah, I'm leveling it. All my peices are only at 9 and 10, though. If you're familiar with Backflip's other games, particularly Dragonvale, then you'll know that this game is designed to be played over a long period of time. Like months and even years. I see leveling up the faction gear as one of those things that will be a long term accomplishment that will take a very long time to complete. And I kind of like it that way.
Is all the faction gear the same? I just noticed it and is it the color of your. Hereby faction ? Or is it all purple?
I dont think the bars all being full mean you need balanced stats. Aren't the bars showing how heavily each stat is weighted? So those ones where the attack bar is full and the others empty, means that attack is by far the most important and the other two dont have much of an effect. So a full bar in every single one, I'm pretty sure is just saying that every stat matters, and to maximize every one if possible. Thats what would make the most sense at least, I mean i doubt the bars mean "match your stats in this ratio to have a better chance at winning". I just wish they would at least show the calculations/process behind deciding who wins. Like say this is how they calculate it (which i dont know): my stats gave me a 90% chance of winning, and 0-89 from RNG is me winning and he wins if its 90-99. I wish it would at least show that it rolled in his favor or something But anyways im well into the top 5% now so its all good. I would recommend using faction points to get the 25% honor boost It changes color depending on your faction for the week. Doesnt affect stats though btw, does anybody know if these go up to level 30 like other gear? Not sure if at level 30 they would be stronger than epics though
I used 200 gems to get enough tokens with 10 minutes left to get into the top 5%. xD Now I have my 4th hero.
Yes, those bars are showing how each stat is weighted, but I believe it is also showing how your stats should be balanced. Take the current challenge, for example (full attack, half defense, zero magic). A player with too much magic will have a lesser chance to win against a player with stats balanced to match the challenge, even if he has more attack than the balanced player. Now, obviously, if a player is way more powerful than the other, no matter of balancing will make up for it. But for players that are fairly close in stats, the one who is closer to matching the challenge stat ratio will have a better roll of the dice. That's my understanding of how it works, at least. If the challenges were only just stat weights, then it would be a pretty boring setup. And you wouldn't be questioning the rng like you are. Try it for yourself. The current challenge calls for full attack, half defense, and zero magic. Outfit your character to match that (highest attack you can muster, about half that on defense, and lowest amount of magic you can manage). Fight like that for a while, and then change your gear around to have about the same magic and defense, but more magic. If you start winning more, then the system is as you say it is. If you start losing more, then you'll know that it's not.
Does anyone know what a red dot on a player's portrait in the arena means? I've seen this only a few times, and I haven't noticed any difference when I fight them.
