I'm love/hating this game! It is a very cool game in the Hoplite vein that I'm having a blast getting to know, but, GRRR, I still can't get a grip on how to setup my kills in any useful manner. I know it will come to me in time, and the game is compelling enough that I will take that time to figure it out, but there will be a lot of cringing and whining coming from me in the meantime.
Funny, tried Hopelite three times, never really liked it, just didn't click with me. This on the other hand, love at the first sight!
Why does the minatur tackle me 3 times ? I don't understand some of why the charecters get these actions, so my understanding is, he sees me, tackles until there is a wall, but then he tackles me twice more against the wall. What is actually happening ?
Your character must be stunned and thus loses a turn, but with that reasoning how would you EVER get a turn in again?
That was my logic but in that case why does he stop after 3 tackles ? I'm confused with the mechanics
@esty8nine first and second time you get pushed into the wall and become stunned. the third time if he's standing next to you he can't actually push you anymore because there's no space between you and the minotaur. This is why on the third turn you can move again, if nothing else stuns you.
Love love love love LOVE!!! I'm no rogue gamer but this one hits the spot. It's a great strategy masterpiece. Simple actions with multiple ways to utilize the kill. Absolute gem!
One suggestion to the dev: If there are all enemies killed and there's just a bomb left on the field that's about to eplode, you're currently forced to make a move to make it go boom, before you can move on to the next stage. That move is taking away one skull. And basically the game could just move on to the next level, ignoring the bomb still being there, no?
While still pathetic, once I realized I can use Shield Bash just to move around, and thus not limited to trying to jump everywhere, I can now clear a couple of levels a game.
Anyone know if there is a limit to how far in the line of sight the bat guy can teleport spots with you ? Is it any distance ? And same with the guy that hooks you.
@your personal robot well this is a philosophical question, the rule says remove all units to clear a level. A bomb is a unit and as long as it's alive you haven't cleared the level. Since i like to avoid a lot of corner cases i kept it this way. @esty8nine line of sight is infinite meaning units can look as far as possible before walls and other enemies. Some can't attack when there's another unit in the way, some can ignore units that are "on ground" like the shield or bombs. @LordGek Satyrs technically push you once you have past them. The hook action basically propels you in the opposite direction once the unit who hooks you has passed you.
Is there a way to heal in the game? I've only made it to 4/10 but I'm going to have to get a lot better if I'm going to make it to depth 10 with only 3 hearts.
I have played all of the games similar to this one. I bought the game as this one is the best in my opinion. The character designs and animations are awesome! I still need to figure out who can get bashed and who is immune , but that is part of the fun. Lots of times I die due to silly mistakes. I just need to slow down and look a bit more.
Yeah! I finally made it to level 7. Of course I lost two lives trying to figure out what to do with Mr. Big shield. Next time he will be toast.
