Due to the poll results, I think I have decided to buy this game. If anyone has any really good reasons/feels strongly that it is not worth my money, then please post in the next half an hour or so. I did try to download the pc version to try the game out but for some reason it wouldn't download so I'm relying on this thread
No no no no no noooooooo............. Theres is no justice in this world Do you even realize why you culdnt get the pc version? Its the evil powers of enviro bear which stopped your download. Dont fall into his trap. I`d hate to loose another one to the other(dark) side.
Go to Youtube. Watch the video of the game in action. If you laugh, buy the game for a freakin' dollar so you can show your friends and they can laugh too. If you think it looks stupid, or if you have no friends, don't buy it.
Anyways, lets get serious. The only reason I m against Enviro Bear is that it`s one of the lamest apps on the appstore(though no offense to the dev as i understand it was just a ). Only those should buy it who spend a lot of money on appstore and dont think twice before shelling out for anything interesting. But for the rest of us, buying this app will be the worst we could do with 99cents. Why are you guys giving away your cash to the devs? There are better ways for charity if thats what your intentions are. Literally thousands of devs who worked a lot lot harder than Enviro`s devs are not seeing any success on appstore. I mean single digit downloads per week(see my sig for one such example). Thats just sad. So stop wasting your cash on a crap app even if 99cents dont mean anything to you. There are a lot of better games out there who could use your pennies a lot more than enviro. And in any case Enviro devs already got way more than what they deserved, thanx to TouchArcade.
Yeah I think I agree with imnosuperman I have been Reading reviews for it on other sites and it seems that people buy it more for the humor than for the gameplay and I'm looking for a game with a solid gameplay that isn't too challenging. If the difficulty level is lowered in a future update I might get it.
In that case my friend take a look at cluck it. I'll add the link to TA thread here in a minute. Edit. Here ya go. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=23693 You won't be disappointed.
Some people buy it for the humour, some people buy it for the challenge. I bought it cause I thought it was genuinely interesting to be placed in a really difficult situation where you're surrounded by obstacles trying to drive a car with only one hand (paw). Plus I like supporting indie devs and the fact they're not afraid to go out there and do something different is only a bonus. Most devs would be far too scared to attempt something like this, and this topic is obviously the reason why. Gamers in general will take one look at the graphics and automatically assume bad things about them, like they didn't put any effort into the game, it's all just a joke, they're bad at programming/artwork and so on, when really that's not the case at all. ...but it's not a huge issue, because the developer knew this reaction was coming, and he doesn't care because he did it for the amusement of himself and a few select people and didn't expect to gain any money out of it. The iPhone port was purely due to demand and peer pressure, and it's nice to know at least some people supported him enough to pick it up, for whatever reason they wanted to play. You're right though, it is challenging... the entire game is based on "how would you act in a challenging situation?", so making the game easier would actually destroy everything it stands for, and then it would be a bad game.
