Counterpoint: Something awesome isn't always good. X-Men Origins Wolverine was an awesome movie, but it was freaking awful. The only reason anyone wants this game is because it is totally ridiculous, not because it is well made, has a good interface, plays well or is all that fun. That is IMO, not anyone elses. Don't flame me because I disagree.
How in the world could you possibly interpret what I posted as a flame? This game is fun, that is the purpose of video games.
No I didn't say you were flaming me, but I suspect that some of the less mature internet based people will flame me. That was a warning to them. That's fine that you think its fun. Its your opinion, Im just stating mine.
This game is fantastic for all of the conventions it breaks, but more importantly for those it keeps with, like gameplay and originality. In an app store 90 percent chock full of copycat apps, this stands out like a bear driving a car.
The developers were trying to make the game this terrible to control and play, it's what makes the game good, I think the developers spent a lot of time on the game, and made it exactly how they wanted. You are completely missing the point of the game, so please just stop bashing it and move along if you don't like it, there is no reason for you to keep arguing.
I couldn't resist the temptation of the graphics and supposed detail in the gameplay. This has to be the most ridiculous game in existence. I played one game and got to the second year. Bears are terrible drivers. Using the rock to hold down the accelerator was very hard for me. I once had three badgers in my car going crazy. By the end of the first year my car was almost completely full of leaves and trash haha. I am definitely getting a good laugh out of this game and will be sure to show it off first chance I get.
Please rate it Only 16 5-star ratings on the app store, currently?!? C'mon, people, we can do better than that. Seriously, this really needs to be on every person's iPhone. Actually, I want Enviro-Bear on the cover of Time magazine. Who's with me?
This game is pure art. Think about it as kind of Passage "game" This is really pushing boundaries. I LOVE IT! Well done!
I would love to see this on the front cover ofTime Magazine! About the 16 five-star ratings, I wrote a fairly lengthy and thorough review of it on iTunes, and of course gave it a mighty big 5 STARS! But we seriously need more than only sixteen... Come on guys...
upgraded to 3.0 just for this game, basically it cost $11. Well worth it. What would make it a lot better would be two arms for multi-touch (so you can drive and use the pedal, the rock isnt always the best solution)
This ... may be the most apt quip about this game yet. I keep playing, dammit. I keep trying new things just to see if the game will react to it. I tried to make the bear eat leaves and bees, but he didn't do anything. This game is just ... genius. It's the ultimate don't-judge-a-book-by-its-cover game, yet the shallow, crayon-on-construction-paper graphics serve as a stark contrast to the unexpectedly deep gameplay even as the point of the game remains so simple. It's a game that's absurdly at odds with itself, and somehow that's exactly what makes it work. I'm off to leave my review.
I thought about that at first, but I think that's part of the challenge, having to multi-task several things at once. It's tough to accelerate and then have to steer only to crash into a tree or hitting another car. All I know is that despite the "look what I whipped up in MS Paint graphics", it's actually somewhat addictive and challenging to get to the next year. It's almost like those time management simulations where you have to focus on multiple events at once. Because it's deeper than it actually appears to be, it is fun to experiment to see how things react. To me, this has been one of the best spent .99 cent apps I've purchased. I've bought many that were better graphically, but I'm genuinely having fun with it now. The initial "WTF" aspect has worn off and I'm now content trying to beat that darn clock (when I haven't accidentally thrown it out the window) in order to feed my disjointed bear! I've seen some bashing on the game and that's fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but some of us are really enjoying the game which is a matter of choice. Anyways, done rambling. I'm glad I took a chance and purchased this game, I've definitely had my money's worth and it looks like others feel the same. At least this isn't some sadistic game based on an 8 hour desert bus ride like this one.. Wait, that might be coming next...
