I would love to be on GameCenter, but my computer crashes for no reason whenever I try to upgrade my iPod to the latest version. The furthest I have ever come is 6 hours, 1/4 through the backup process. Is there any way to upgrade to the newest version of iOS directly from the iPod itself (without jailbreaking)? And does it take anyone else hour upon hour for iDevice backup? I would just get a Plus+ account or something of the such, but it would be to no avail since most games will be updated to GameCenter eventually. I should have just gotten a social network account earlier. Anyway, thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

Sounds like a problem with your computer to me.. No way to download iOS updates directly to device that I know of. Sorry - good luck.

GameCenter ain't that great anyways IMO.

Well I'm trying everything. Deleting music, provisioning files, backing up then restoring then updating then restoring from backup, I should be updated soon. Thanks for trying to help.

How about canceling the backup during the sync process?
