I prefer my Iphone simply because it has more PC style games on it. A good example is all the diablo style, Elite style, and Daggerfall style games on it.

I want a psp2. I am prepared to sell my 32gb Ipod 4 for it, but not my iphone 4 since the psp2 aint a phone
The gameplay possibilities on the NGP seem interesting for me but I'm pretty sure I'll see the same problem I have with current handheld devices (DS/PSP): where are the unusual and interesting games from 3rd parties? Ok, it's nice to play Mario Bros 12 or Monster Hunter 73 but it's like you play all the time the same game with some tiny differencies. So on NGP, we'll have Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet, Monster Hunter, WipEout... nothing really new. Same for the 3DS line-up which is very boring for me. On iOS, 1-2 times a month, I think " this game is unusual and interesting" and most of the time I enjoy enough what I'm playing to finish the games (I'm not sure I finished more than 5 games on my DS and it's the same for my other devices... It's not about crap, it's more about 'empty' games). Indie devs are the creative ones, they are people who succeed to bring some surprise in my gaming life and they have a great place with the App Store to share their love. Perhaps 3DS and NGP markets will offer the same great possibilities for indies & 3rd parties but so far, DS & PSP fail to open their doors. The 2 first years are poor on 3rd party games most of the time, so I don't expect something unusual on 3DS & NGP before 2013. iOS has some great years in front of it and since 2013 will have incredibly games on our idevices (which will do coffee and will be solar powered ).
I haven't a PSP but I follow a little the news about its games. I can't remember something which seemed interesting for me since 2 years except LittleBigPlanet (but there were some games when I chose between DS and PSP in 2006). Since 2009, I didn't buy a game on my DS (just played Prof Layton & Pokémon for reviews ) but I'm buying a lot of good iOS games (and some Xbox Live games). I suppose it's a matter of tastes: I'm more interested by the games which try something different than games with a big name/ big publisher (which can be good of course).
I'm definitely sticking with my iPod touch, but I was really impressed with the NGP reveal (Uncharted? yes please! ), so i'll be keeping my eye on that as well.
im bored of my ipod touch, i need something new. and looks like ill have some choices too, yay for having options. and the right to change my mind at any given point. chris.
i do not see the market on the itunes store changing much. the prices will pretty much stay the same.. and you will get people who will wait for sales to try out the so called upper end games on the iso. i think the real trick will be bordem. im so bored of my ipod. can see a lot of people in same boat as me. the 3ds and the psp are valid options. and in 1 year we will know if all these arguments lead to anything. history tends to repeat it self... so i do not see much changing chris.
I don't see it as the end of iOS gaming, I mean in video game terms it's just getting started. Yeah the 3DS and PSP2 will have tremendous sales, but the games are 30 to 40 times more expensive than some iOS games. People will keep coming back to their iPhones and iPod touches for the same reason they started playing on them in the first place.
Try as an excerpt of the variety Echochrome, Loco Roco 1+2+Midnight Carnival, Kahoots. They all feel very indie like (That only indie devs are able for fresh ideas is game racism ), they all celebrate fresh ideas and try to surpise you in a artful way and with ideas you wouldn't expect easily. And if you want to make whoopee with violent content, which Apple currenty doesn't allow and some games only try to emulate (Gangstar, Hero of Sparta, Modern Combat) and fail, try God of War and the GTA Stories games, they shure let you work off
Because we don't have the option to shoot people and sell drugs on GTA: Chinatown Wars? Oh wait, we do.
You can shoot the heads off in the Stories games, the bodies still moving after that, blood fountains ongoing over 5 seconds, legs off, arms off, picking up prostitutes and then ... and so on. The figures in Chinatown Wars are so small that it's not immersive. The texts and words in the intro sequences of missions are only an illusion that the game is "roug", drug trading game is no violence.
3 of them were released on 2008 and the 2 others on 2009 (a sequel and a mini? Most of the Minis are indie games). So, yes, it's what I said, nothing new these last years on handheld classic devices For violent content, I'm not interested by it, the Sims are too violent for me now I'm pretty sure there are some interesting games on classic handhelds but these last 2 years, if you don't count sequels, you won't find a lot of them. And as everybody doesn't like same games as the others, I suppose choices are very limited. As a player who likes RPG, puzzle games, platformers and crazy games, I've plenty of choice on the App Store, with deeper games. Not sure I will find this on 3DS and NGP, but we'll see
