Hey everyone! Joe here, the producer and engineer at Creoterra working on Empyrios: Prophecy of Flame.

I apologize for the lack of updates but after our first major alpha test in the fall, along with questions we received from fans, we decided to really take our time and make sure we have things at the highest quality we can be. So we've been deep in development making some large changes, as well as improving everything across the board.

You can read more about this on our latest blog post but I'll also give a really quick listing of our most significant updates:

    iPhone Support
This was something we had always wanted, and we received a ton of questions about, but did not want to announce officially until we nailed down the UI and gameplay to make sure it's the same high quality experience as on the iPad. After months of work and testing we finally got it right, and so we will be launching on both the iPad and iPhone.

    Lore & Dialogue
Alpha testers really liked the campaign and the story, but the actual writing wasn't up to the same quality and some of it was a little dry. To remedy this we brought a writer onto the team and he's working on everything from race/class descriptions, to lore, to dialogue... if it's a written piece he's working hard to make it great.

    Overall Campaign
Overall testers really liked that we have two campaigns, so that you can play through the story from the point of view of each faction. Also our dynamic elements proved so popular that we decided to really work on fleshing that out more and giving even more options.

It is explained better in the blog post I linked above, but every decision you make, and every battle outcome will affect the reputation of your guild and the course of the campaign. Things are always happening in the world, so you may have to choose between 1 of 3 scenarios at any given time, and while you may choose option B to play through, options A and C will still happen in the world and there will be ramifications.

We're still working really hard on these components and constantly building out the scenarios and giving more options, I plan on addressing our entire dynamic campaign system in an upcoming video or blog post.

    Empyrios site & Game Trailer
These were things that we initially wanted to launch quite awhile ago, but after collecting all feedback from our alpha testing we decided to hold off and go all hands on deck purely into development. We're still working on a lot of things, but very shortly we will be launching the game site (screenshot example) along with the trailer and our steam greenlight page.

I apologize as I had mentioned these things launching previously, but we decided on making the many improvements in the HUD, effects, campaign, and iPhone support before actually cutting the gameplay trailer and videos. I wanted everything to appear in the videos as they will be in-game, and I didn't want to make promises that we couldn't keep (i.e. making sure we could support the iPhone).

    Future Updates, Swag, and Alpha/Beta
I'll make sure to keep everything updated here, and you can also follow @Creoterra, our Facebook page, and me personally @JoeCreoterra... don't hesitate to ask any questions or give feedback!! We'll have the usual contests for swag like t-shirts and posters, plus followers will be the first included in our next alpha and beta tests.

On that note I'll also attach some new screens, a shot of our world map, and an art piece on one of the races (also used for loading screens):

Screenshot1 - me getting owned in multiplayer!

Screenshot2 - playing through the campaign raiding a Reptilis/Az'modai supply cave.

Screenshot3 - the campaign world map, although note it is currently missing many locations.

Lithos Race- an art piece on one of our races, which is also used as one of the loading screens.

Thanks for checking us out! I'm really looking forward to showing much more in the coming weeks!

    It's getting sooooo great!!!
iPhone version is a very good thing too because neither all the people has an ipad and neither we have an ipad all the time with us. So, if it's universal and it has an icloud support you are just awesome.

It seems that you delay it for better quality. Good move.

I would love to be a beta tester but I don't have enough free time .. :(

@nkarafo We've been using iCloud in builds for quite awhile now so that will definitely be in.

Regarding universal I am extremely hoping to be able to do this, but unfortunately I can't promise anything right now. That doesn't in any way mean no though, it's just that we only recently added the iPhone as a platform and we still have to look into how to handle different assets in universal builds, etc. So it's definitely something that we really want to do, but I won't make promises until I am confident we can deliver.

    And thanks for the compliments!
