Great artwork. I'm disappointed that gameplay is triple triad based. It can be fun in short bursts but it can never get too deep or tactical. I'm much more worried about taking cards from opponents though. Magic the Gathering initially had that as a dueling rule pre-Alpha, you might be aware, but it was universally hated and no ccg/tcg has successfully implemented it. I don't think I'll be spending any money on this one the way it is going.
Hi Tinsel, The beauty of the mechanics of triple triad was in it's simplicity and flexibility. The original triple triad was indeed a very simple game, but Eminence has re-invented the core mechanic with its own unique rules which players can use to create a wide variety of games. For instance, one of the rules the game has replaces the numbers on the card with action gems (representing things your avatar can do to your opponents such as attack, defend etc) - such a rule never existed in the original TT. There are a few more which make the game much more strategic and deep. No game has attempted to do what we're doing with Triple Triad and we're confident you're going to like the game. There are also rule modifiers put in place which protects those who do not wish to obtain / lose a card after a match. We hope you at least give it a go as you don't have to spend anything to play!
