Is it possible to obtain the gilded giant skull in the De Clare home without killing Walter De Clare or stealing it? I am trying not to kill people who aren't hostile and not to steal items
Yes, at some point they will give it to you. You get a quest (I forgot which one) but sue to the quest they will give it up freely.
I have trouble remembering this, but to my recollection yes. Is it the quest that you get from the thugs in the house on the Docks?
Yes. The quest I am referring to is the one you get from them. I've been able to get all of the other skulls without stealing or killing anyone but this npc doesn't seem to give me a choice.
I'm running into the same problem too. It seems odd that you would have to kill or steal in order to complete the quest. Does anyone know if there is another way?
Perhaps just finish other quests and come back later. I did not kill them over that skull, they gave it to me.
I'm talking about the man who has all of the gems in his house and talks about how he got rich selling embers. The only option I see is to kill him for selling embers or to go downstairs and steal it at night. That is pretty poor design if they don't let you complete a quest without being able to do it as a "good" character.
I'm pretty sure she lets you take it. Because "she hates the thing" or something like that. Maybe I had to do a task for her first? Don't recall exactly but for some reason I thought she let me just take it.
I have an interesting question: I'm currently playing Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, and I'd like to know how does Ember compare. I'm on iPad. In my experience with Baldur's Gate: -The lore is deep -The overall landscape/map is HUGE -Tons of items and very unique types of magic spells -Most items have intricate descriptions (including magic spells) -Unprecedented challenges (feels like a survival RPG) -Abysmal linearity -The voice acting and dialogue is cheesy but entertaining! -Critical player decisions -Assassins/Bounty Hunters out for your head (showing up when you least expect it) -Permanent deaths -Indescriminate magic (could affect enemies and allies alike) -The feeling of actually being on an adventure AND always in danger -Archaic text and dialogue -So many unexpected things happen (usually for the worst) So, my question is, aside from the obvious graphical superiority, how does Ember stack up to Baldur's Gate?
I know which one you are talking about. I am at the same point in the game. I didn't want to kill him either but on the upside, he is a slave trader and complete scum and once you kill him, all that loot becomes your to take. I don't know if there is another way.
Ok thanks. It's been a while since I was at that part. If I couldn't figure it out I must have killed him ☹️
Just installed it on an iPhone 6. Looks and runs great. However the text, HUD, inventory, etc, are all to small on an iPhone. Way too hard to read anything and too easy to miss tap. I cannot recommend it for an iPhone, except "maybe" an iPhone Plus.
Yeah, the text requires a magnifying device to read on my iPhone 6. But on my iPad it is perfect. I'm still glad it's on my phone though. If rather have the option. Plus I think they are working on a bigger text update at the moment.
