i'm glad this isn't out in the us right now, i'd probably buy some energy so i could get credits... sad yes i know - but i love new toys!
Think of it this way, by going free (and charging for energy packs), the user-base will expand ten-fold. You'll always have someone to play with. If you don't wanna pay, fine, but you don't have to spout diatribes at ngmoco just because of the business strategy they wanted to take.
Since hi scores are saved 2 iPod I'm just gonna install and delete and install and get re 30 free credits
That doesn't work. The credits are given by Plus accounts. If you want another 30, you'd have to make a new Plus account.
when they say energy is recharged once every 90 minutes, does that mean that you get 1 game with energy every 90 minutes, or 15 cells which is enough to play 3 games, every 90 minutes?
You people don't realize you can still play without energy. As for buying energy, I might if I get some more value for the price I'm paying. I think the prices relation to the cells is out of whack right now
Personal take: while I plan to buy a couple of packs for both the new games to support ngmoco, there is another option that I think would benefit them better than in-app purchases: the subscription system. This way, they can charge a higher price but allow people to play much more throughout the month. For example, maybe a full recharge every hour or so. I would easily buy this at $15.
I want to, yet something in me says dont pay a penny... conversely I may drop a bunch of cash, cuz i think u can trade energy for credits, and I love gettin all the best stuff instaneously
True, but you would need to buy the $9.99 pack for enough to buy a credit pack (or 2, as the case ends up being). This means 2000 credits, but remember you must be a high enough level in order to unlock new items/upgrades. Therefore it probably is worth just playing the game.
I would have spent 10 but I use a free Canadian account... IMO it's worth dropping some loot now and again on it. I can't see me going crazy tho.. the cash was just so I could buy credits, which levels u up as well(getting credits)
What is the "game recharge" anyways? It's some form of credit you use to play the game?? So without buying from the developer, basically you can't play the game? If it is, then it's about a hundred times worse than making the game $9.99 to start with, but no pay-to-play crap.
thats what I thought to, but if you look it says you need x amount of credits to level (116 to level 4 for me).... so as I see it, as you swap your Power Cells for credits you also level.. win win
nope u can only level up with credits earned by playing games, the credit pack doesnt count towards it.
ah thanx no, what happens is when your energy runs out, u stop earning credits, and your wait time for a game goes up like 10-15 seconds (from 5)... i think this can happen in mid-game too... u can keep playing nonstop till your battery dies though... so for someone like me, dropping 1.99 is easily forseeable, dropping 9.99 I may do more than once (maybe..) doubt I would ever do the 29.99 one... To be honest though, with this system I find myself sometimes running around like a credit whore when I have energy, skipping kills (attempted ones neway) to grab the extra creds on the ground... no clue how many u get from kills
I'll pick up the game, though, I won't be buying any credits. I think it's a waste. Plus, I'm a completionist and I hate games that don't have an ending. Here's to hoping the new Modern Combat multiplayer is good this upcoming holiday season, because if it is I don't see Eliminate doing very well.
ngmoco pricing: 2 dollar pack: 66 cents per deathmatch round 10 dollar pack: 17 cents per deathmatch round 30 dollar pack: 15 cents per deathmatch round
Out of whack is an understatement. That's like daylight robbery to me. I actually wanted to support Ngmoco but this just completely changed my look on the company.
