Hey there, le'd...I really hesitate to recommend it to you since you hated MC:S so much. The controls are basically the same. The settings are different obviously, and I think the visuals are actually improved over MC:S, but based on what your likes/dislikes are I don't think you'll like it. I've mentioned that MC:S is one of the ones we differ on, since I actually liked it quite a bit (although I grant that the story is a bit hackneyed). The story on this is basically a HALO/Deep Space hybrid/ripoff, but I like the gameplay. For your tastes, I'd say probably not...7 bucks is 7 bucks, and why throw it away if you won't get much out of it.

Thanks Bud! Perhaps when/if a lite comes out I'll give it a shot. Those visuals are just so pretty, even a "GL hater" like me, can't help but be intrigued.

I dun care what the ngmofo groupies are going to say, Nova is hands down the better game. Even if Nova adopts the same free-but-pay-through-your-nose scheme like elimilame, Nova is still the better game. Elimilame is not free at all, and you get thrown peanuts with each 99c DLC, it is like the OP said, "a scam job posting on craiglists". Don't fall for that crap.

NOVA by far. Makes Eliminate look like a 10 year old Gameboy Color game.

Nova > Chuck Norris > Obama > Herpes > Eliminate.

Yes, that's right - HERPES is greater than Eliminate.

NOVA, not only is the gameloft engine better (I seriously hate the Quake/Unreal engines).. Eliminate is trash, the animations aren't smooth, the graphics suck.. U can play on 3G, but the pricing scheme is AWFUL, and I hate games that you have to level up in, just put us in the map and lets throwdown, if I want to level up Ill play an RPG.

And the single player is fun

I voted for Eliminate. i did play NOVA 2 hours straight today but already it feels a little old. I don't like how you have to grab the good weapons: sniper, rocket launcher. also i like upgrading my armor, weapons and customizing the look. and lastly, eliminate is fast paced and has more realistic head shots.

it takes like 2 seconds for NOVA to register a head shot. also he dies slowly unlike elim.

You can't compare a lame, retarded, stupid, awful, and bad game with N.O.V.A.

    Yeah, lol.
Eliminate makes me think that a dog has taken a shit on my iPhone's screen and smeared it all over.

NOVA on the other hand is excellent.

As far as online gameplay goes...Eliminate wins by a long shot! Nova does have a good campaign mode, so no comparison can be made there. NOVA just feels really dated, not a good thing. I really hope NOVA will pull itself together and rework the online modes. The controls suck! I actually like eliminates controls better(never thought I'd say that!) I worked on the Halo 2 project before it came out, and I have been a big fan, NOVA wants to try the same feel and get the same fanbase, then they really need to change things in their game. We'll see.....

    Reasons

How about some reasons for opinions instead of "Eliminate is like the poo poo in my potty" kindergarten crap?

I've tried NOVA, first impression graphics-wise was good and the ability to customize the controls is great. The online game is too damn long though. Played for what seemed like forever, and people kept dropping out of the game and new people coming in, so in the end there was no way to tell who won. Also the arenas were so big that I spent half the time just trying to find other players

I feel like Eliminate is a lot more pick-up-and-play, and NOVA requires you to dedicate time to playing it. You can't just whip it out on the bus ride home and have a quick game, which suits my mobile game play style better. Once I'm home, I'd rather play my console FPS.

NOVA's storyline mode is impressive though, good for a really really long plane ride or the like. Even though it's just like Halo/DeadSpace in miniature.
