They must be losing players left right and center to be throwing these energy promotions around. Not a great sign. I was really into this when it first came out but then didn't play for a week or so, went back online and everyone had rocket launchers and it all felt horribly outbalanced. Kind of took the fun out of it and i haven't played since. Am keeping an eye on it to see if they level the playing field a bit in an update but aside from that the novelty has worn off and im not that impressed anymore. I'd love to see stats of how many people are active online and how releases like MW2 and Left4Dead 2 have an impact... and then how long after such releases it takes people to trickle back into a handheld game and what percentage actually bother to return. Just out of curiosity more than anything.
Good thing I read this, I thought it was a bug! Haha (where they accidentally turned the recharge time to really a low number)
They said it was because of the game's success and I believe it. There's no point in speculating. Personally, I thought this two minute thing was a train wreck, but not because of ngmoco. The great thing about this game is that it forces people to play. Many of these games have problems with people camping out and sniping and doing nothing but annoying people. Eliminate has leveling, no room for sniping, etc, which is great! Last night, however, I spent EVERY game against morons who thought it'd be brilliant to just load up rockets and shoot at everything. Every match timed out because the guy in the lead would blow himself up every ten seconds. He wouldn't even get many credits. It was ridiculous. My phone was vibrating nonstop, I'd get killed every ten seconds and still end up in first place(with only like 30 credits and 3 kills). So, basically, the game that prevented idiots from being idiots opened the d-bag flood gates last night and reminded us all of the fact that there are still @$$hats out there and we need to be viglant and ever heedful of their jackassery. Good day, sirs.
Yeah that basically sounds about like every game I ever get with this game. Shame cos I really enjoyed it when it first came out and se my alarm to play whenever energy would be full but now I think I am too far behind the crowd and not interested enough to put in the time to level up
Man... I'm getting so tired of this game... even though with the faster recharge, there's nothing new Kept running and shooting around non stop really gets you bored after awhile Anyway, IMHO, I feel it's a wrong move by Ngmoco to make such a fast recharge... it's so unfair for those who spent heap loads at the beginning on cells and now, it's just 3 weeks past, we get almost unlimited recharge ? lol...
All they really need now is to seriously balance the rocket launcher, all I can think of would be to make it less accurate (it could hit within a set distance of your aimer), and to drastically increase the reload time, so as to make it almost useless for close combat.
Upgrade your armor, I've seen people take 3 rockets to the face and still cap me twice for a kill compliments of the Plasma Cannon. If anything, balance the PC, it should not be as effective as it currently is at long range. Q3's Super Shotgun is exactly how it should operate, insta-kill up close, a total joke at long range.
shouldnt it be 20 minutes? today i played a game and it said 20 minutes until next recharge.... it was the first time i played in about 1 week and now i feel so weak!
interestingly, with 120s recharges... I found the game far less fun. Wins/losses generally became meaningless because the extra credits weren't worth very much, since you could just jump in again. arn
I agree, I think the 1 hour or hour and a half recharges were the best idea, the 120 seconds recharges just made me play for a straight hour not caring if I won or lost..
