no offense, but ur wrong ;) the grouping system is severely flawed, and if ur unable to see that, then..idk, pretty weird. ur telling me that being, for example, lv.8 paired with lv.15+ is "fine how it is" ? i find that hard to believe. you see, when u have no energy, ur skill rating still goes up [im sure u already knew this] so basically, say u dont have much money, and dont want to waste it buying over-priced energy packs, so u decide to play with no energy, nothin wrong with that. so think about it, ur playing games with no energy, thus earning 0 credits, all the while ur skill rating is going up. what ends up happening is u manage to attain a high skill rating, what does that mean? ur g2b paired with higher lvl players most of the time w/ superior weps + gear. a futile effort, and it detracts from the fun of the game. are u still saying its "fine how it is" ?

Seriously? I mean, seriously? There is the simplest solution to all of this, and nobody has even pointed it out! Gosh...
Ok, think of any RPG game you've played. Does your character level up when you earn money? Has that EVER happened before?

No. Your character levels up when you reach a number of "skill points".
This makes it so that people who are skilled can get tougher weapons... Then they would be able to play people who are the same level as each other, because they have the same number of skill points.

This would keep everyone happy, because the noobs don't need tough equipment, (cause they can't handle it... :D) The skilled players who like the game get even matches and upgrades, and everyone's happy.

People could still level up without energy by getting kills, they just couldn't buy the tough equipment without getting credits still, (which you'd still need energy to get credits)

That is the best solution in my opinion.

Yes, it's a FPS, but the main point of the game is the RPG elements. :D That is, for me at least.

Do you agree that having people's levels tied to their skill points would be the solution then? Or am I leaving anything out?

yea it might be better..but..that would involve basically revamping the entire way the system is configured..and more-so than that, it would also involve ng making less money. something i doubt they'd ever go for.

no, currently you need x amount of credits to advance levels. Hitch is suggesting being able to advance levels through skill points.

No, you get levels up by how many credits you earn. Under your level it says
_ # of credits until level 12 or whatever.

I'm saying to switch it to skill points to level up. Small change, big difference.

Edit: Haha Derek's too fast for me! Yep though, spot on.

Edit Edit: Now password realized it before I put this. Oops! :p ;)

lol ;) msn notifies me when i get a new e mail.

on a separate note, the weapon power needs to be re-balanced. more specifically, the Plasma Cannon. obviously, its shotgun based [duh] so how is it that its just as effective as the auto rifle when shooting someone from across the map [if not more] how does this make sense? even more than that, its just way too over-powered to begin with. it basically requires no skill whatsoever, after a few upgrades when it has larger clips + more power, someone can blatantly fire and has a higher success percentage than someone accurately using an auto rifle. seriously? comeon now.
