Why do we want to get rid of the shield? Just because you don't like it doesn't mean other people don't like it. Shield is not just all about getting easy kills, it's FUN. Some of the most frantic game play is in tank where its just a shield fest. And in the other maps it almost becomes a capture the flag with people focusing on the shield and trying to get to it. It just adds another flavor to the game. People call it unfair and unethical to use a berserker powerup for it's intended purpose? Then the health and damage amp are TOTAL NOOB powerups. All you gotta do is get the health powerup and stand there and your health goes up....so unfair! At least you gotta chase or be chased with the berserker which takes skill. You get the damage amp and you can one shot people! SO UNETHICAL!! I've seen total NOOOOBS get the health powerup and have their health magically regenerate....talk about UNFAIR!!! wah wah wah!!! So if you use the health powerup, you are total NOOB FAILURE! If you use the damage amp, you are total NOOB FAILURE because it gives you an unfair advantage.

Just wanna end my shield rant with saying that we shouldn't do away with the beserker all together. Ngmoco has been adding maps with no shield which is nice. But to completely get rid of the shield because some people are frightened by the big bad berserker would be lame. We should just have some maps with shield, and some without. It's called variety.

They're 2 of the most elite players in the whole game and I was like "wtf?" as I saw the results. i couldn't believe what i did... But I think it would take long time to get as good as Al, Terror or Perr, cuz they're just the best players you'd ever find in this game. I think I would never become a member of the Cell, cuz they're just to good for me. Take my advice and quit talking that s***, cuz you don't even know how mighty the Cell really is. Skill points and your rank on the leaderboards is unappealing. I don't care about skill. Just play the game and stop abusing the Cell or any other players. -.-"

Thanks for being honest. 2. Fourth floor are u kidding me? U won't find 2 people on this thread who say that shielding requires skill. I mean from the looks of it I would say ur some basher who doesn't want shields to go away cause u would never win another match. Now I'm not calling u retarded or anything but can u not see the trend in level construction. Out of the last 4 levels one has shield and out of the first levels, they all have shields. U c what that is is customer satisfaction. Do u think they are not addig shields on accident? No it's because the vast, and I mean VAST majorty if people detest shields, BECAUSE THEY DONT REQUIRE SKILL! with damage amp u STILL HAVE TO SHOOT UR GUN/ AIM/ BE ABLE TO NOT GET KILLED WHILE UR SHOOTING, with health OMG U ARE JK RIGHT? lol i don't remember the last time insaw someone just sit there with the health like look at me guys I'm regenerating! Yes it was a joke. Obviously my tongue in cheek sarcasm did not translate well over the internets, but the idea still stands. Yes I agree we should have less shields, but I don't agree that we should completely get rid of them. Why go to extremes? Have variety in your life! Shields can be fun. People want to get rid of tank because of two shields? I say we should just designate tank as a bash zone. No holds barred bash fest. And I know you don't agree, but bashing takes skill. I know that If I don't hit the right groove, I get bashed a bunch in tank. But when my timings on, I can run from shield to shield to damage amp bashing everyone. This doesn't mean I go for the shield in every map, but tank just brings out the basher. It's just pathetic when people whine that their skill dropped because they got bashed. Cry me a fricken river. It just means they need to get better at it. There are so many techniques to use against bashers.
I feel ya man...my only issue with the shield, really, is that I feel like it's unfair if I'm the one using it, so I give people the benefit of the doubt usually. With the shields, the only thing it takes to win in tanker is infiltrator + sprint + a good first spawn. 2 good players with infil & sprint = whoever has the best spawn position wins. And, to be honest, it's just no fun running around bashing people because you're faster...unless it's endlessecho, of course.
I'd like to add myself to the list of people that avoid shields. I almost never bash in FFA matches, and never at all in 1v1
I'm giving away my expandin account to a friend of mine...since I don't have any time to play and that won't change in the next 1-2 years... I'm more into playing with less upgraded equiptment anyways... so I will still be keeping my noob...just not my style to finish others in two shots when they need like 5...that's just not right... anybody here complaining about shield-bashing while having a straight advantage gear-wise is just seeing one side of the medal! There are folks who can't afford to level up fast enough... so I'm helping a friend out!.... Peace!
I agree with this position on the whole. Well put. There's nothing that amuses me more than being lucky with the spawn point in Tank. When I get on the double-bash damage amp merry-go-round successfuly against a serial basher, I laugh my friggin ass off (as I recently did against Kaiser, winning 10 - 0). I mean really, that shit gives me gut-ache it's so damn hilarious. Yeyeah!
