Eliminate is in the bussines of selling power cells! If you keep on wanting to get money from your employees you have to always make your 'stuff' enticing! If gameloft decides to update nova once in a while then we may have to really say adios to eliminate. As it is this update is not even close enough to get me playing again.
I don't know why, but after a game where I did not have the Dual Cannon equipped, it told me I only had 5 uses remaining. Oh had it on secondary.. I like the update by the way, always nice to see new things.
Interesting fact, Random Guy? I figured it out, I had the Dual equipped secondary on accident and that counts as one use.
It doesn't matter if you had it as a Secondary weapon and didn't use it. If you entered a match with it as being a weapon, it counts as being a use.
You needed a little competition uh!? I tought with hd to wait for update 1.2 to get all this!! Sarcasm good job anyway
I don't really get this. I find Eliminate to be a game that requires a lot more skill from me online. In NOVA, I find myself having to run around looking for my opponents, and when I find them, the fighting feels like a game of who caught who. Whoever takes the first shot usually wins. In addition, It is impossible to snipe in NOVA game because there are maybe two sniping points maximum in small maps that are both obvious to everyone playing the game and easy to access. The sniper's need to zoom to shoot makes it unusable because even if you manage to snipe one guy, the others will find you soon, sneak up from behind, and you are unable to make that quick, close shot with the sniper that often saves your life. Instead you must exit the sniping mode, change weapons, and then fire. Not acceptable. This is just one example of details left ignored. The controls are also no where near as good as eliminate. I am sorry, but the whole having to touch a specific area of the screen to fire just doesn't make sense. The tap anywhere approach in eliminate allows me to aim and shoot seamlessly. This is all not to mention Void. It is the worst map ever. All it is is jumping from platform to platform shooting at anyone looking the wrong way before they can shoot back. There is no strategic positioning. there is no motivation to do anything but run around picking up cheep kills from victims who haven't figured out yet that not moving constantly on this map in any direction makes you a sitting duck. ALSO the lack of a match maker is horrible. People complain eliminate's matchmaker can be a bit flawed, but it works a LOT better than allowing the user to join games without any knowledge of what type of game he or she is joining. Is it going to be filled with lag? Is it going to be filled with players way below or way above his or her skill level? who knows? Anyway, I will repeat again so no one accuses me of being a gameloft hater, I do really like the campaign. I just think the multiplayer could have been better.
Eliminate is a battle of upgrades in terms of weapon and armor, in nova the playing field is level. Nova feels and looks like a console game while eliminate looks outdated. So what if the void is crap you don't have to play it right? I like eliminate for what it is the first good online fps but now I feel that we have something better in nova but that is just my 2 cents.
i dont knock down eliminate but i hate the whoever-spend-the-most-money-is-the most powerful feel in this game!its not good at all!!and the auto rifle is too powerful now, sucks, i dont even want to get deeper!!
I see what you mean to some degree. I agree that the graphics are better on NOVA. I agree that I don't have to play void (which was only one gripe of mine of only a short list that I felt like typing). What I don't agree with is that Eliminate is a battle of upgrades. Look, I am level 27. I have never purchased a single power cell and I have made TONS of bad purchases and wasted TONS of credits. Despite this, I am matched up against people who are usually ten levels higher than me and I beat them usually. I actually just got matched up with a guy who was level 49 and he (or she, I can't assume) only got one kill on me. I don't use any of the weapons people consider overpowered. I use a autorifle, a gravity hook, and assault armor. I think that this demonstrates the value of skill in this game. Upgrades are just a nice reward for doing well while playing with energy. I feel people forget that the game is still fun without energy and thus discredit it due to the admittedly steep power cell prices. The thing is, upgrades, credits, and powercells are two things. First, they are a way for Ngmoco to make money off of this game. Second and most importantly, they are a way to make the player feel progress from playing the game. It is analogous to a role playing game where despite your purchasing of new weapons, armor, etc. the difficultly level stays roughly the same. The strength that you gain over time is mostly measurable by your ability to beat opponents that you had previously faced easily even though these are no longer your main opponents. The same is true for eliminate. You can feel that you are stronger than you used to be even though you are probably having roughly to same kill to death ratio as your skill points slowly increase and allow you to play opponents of a similar caliber. That, for me, is the beauty of the game. I feel rewarded for playing even though I know that I will always be playing opponents with roughly the same skill as me. Seems like a pretty good system to me. I am not trying to say that you are wrong in enjoying NOVA. I understand that it is just a matter of opinion. I just like putting my own opinion out on the internet for the world to see I guess... we all probably do. I would assume that is why everyone here is currently posting their every thought such as I do...
Haters make the world go round... @deiden26 All your recent posts are well said and I completely agree. @ngmoco great update. I for one am very happy with it. @All you haters...GO TO THE N.O.V.A. thread and be negative there. They are both great games and that should not go unrecognized. The byass ELIMINATE bashing is really getting old. Seriously... @All you haters again...If you feel the need to flame me for my opinion...instead feel free to add me as either "Stro" or "Halfrica" and we can settle this in game.
Big +1 to that. I would like to see ELIMINATE offer all weapons while in offline practice mode. iPod Touch user like myself don't always have Wifi and I would love to be able to hone our skills with the ability to test my weapons as well as swap to a secondary while offline. If its not to much...testing all armors in offline mode wouldn't hurt either...no biggie though. Just a way to be more confident in both buying the items in online mode as well as be able to practice getting better at them since we cant sell stuff back at a lower price that we wish we hadn't purchase after its been tested. Just some suggestions.
Ugh! Just played against a beserker shield camper on Bedlam, and he was using a PC. So annoying! He just stayed in that tunnel the whole time! He must have been cheating, I would use 4 vap shots on him, +57 damage, but he wouldn't die.
new map and stuff map is cool, new weapon is just another plasma cannon(big deal) this dual version should just be an upgrade for the regular plasma cannon in my opinion. They need to create an ALL NEW weapon, what's next A vaporizer ultra?(it will shoot yellow beams?) Plus I am noticing a whole lot of new glitches per se. I somehow can walk on walls in knox's main room(no I did not have a jet pack) I played six matches that did not have any HUD on the screen. I couldn't change weapons jump see my health weapon etc.. it was all just a blank screen. The new map is cool though.
