im lvl 22 I am trying hard not to hit 3k skill too many nub lv 50 1 hitting me when u hit 3.1k getting myself negative kills and getting pwnd by other guys for this
actually you wont find that until your skill is around 5000. Unless those level fiftys have really begun to suck since the last time I played this game (yesterday).....
Neah after i hit 3.1k I got owned by group of lv 40s-50s at 2900 skill They all had tank armor/ that assault armor or something? that one below tank with rocket launcher or plasma cannon
lmfao kudos to those kids, they suck Well i guess once you get past the blotch of noobs at skill 2K you'll be better off. Or maybe im just getting lucky...
well, sadly i think im done with emliminate unless it gets an update that will change matchmaking so im not fighting high level 30s when im level 18
I'm level 31 and at my best point I was at like 4300 skill. I'm around 3400 now, and the highest level I have run into is a 41 (whom I beat)
Ok, well, I was getting frustrated with this game so I took a few days off. It was a good break, today I woke up and actually wanted to play Eliminate. So I fire it up, first game of course is a 1 v 1 and of course it's on Tank. So the other guy naturally spawns right in the zerk shield room, and I spawn in on the opposite side in the room with two doorways. So I wait in that room where I spawn, my tactic to deal with the shield on that map is just wait in that two doorway room, they get the zerk, then by the time they've run all the way over to you the shield is almost gone. Well of course this guy has a RL. So he stands in the zerk area, spamming rockets into either doorway of where I'm standing the entire game. He either kills me with splash damage or gets the zerk and runs over and kills me. Rinse, repeat for the entire match. What a display of skills! Needless to say I was quickly reminded of why I put this game down. I wish I wouldn't have bought any power cells. I have 71 of them, and I don't think I'll ever even use them. Can I gift them to one of you guys or something? This game just is not fun anymore. There are moments few and far between where I get into a match, and the other player is skilled, and we battle it out in a legit match where no one is trying to spam a weapon or camp a powerup, one's just trying to frag the other and it's a crap load of fun. I probably have a match like that 1 out of every 50 in Eliminate. This game just isn't worth putting up with so much bullshit for a few fleeting seconds of fun. I think the nail in the coffin was ngmoco raising the prices of upgrades. I have about 5000 credits, and a few days ago bought the Vaporizer. Everyone told me I had better get it, cause my beloved AR wouldn't last me much longer. I'm level 33 with about 6600 skill. So I plunked down the cash, but before fully upgrading it I wanted to play around with it and get a feel for it. Well, lucky kawinky dink for me, but that was the very same day they rose the prices! Now, seeing how much it's going to cost to upgrade it, as well as continue to upgrade my armor and AR, has completely soured me. And f*ck that concept to begin with, it should be possible for anyone in this game to be able to use any weapon they want and become the best at this game. The face that I "have" to upgrade to a Vap once I'm in the level 30's proves how imbalanced the weapons really are. I dunno, maybe I'll come back to this game again. I really want to like it, I like everything about it right up to the shitty matchmaking and imbalanced equipment. The controls, graphics, everything works so well for this game. But right now it's not FUN for me, which is the most key ingredient. And it doesn't help that I feel jaded by spending money on power cells, only to have them not be worth what I though they were anymore. Now there's a segmented market, where loads of people got tons of upgrades for cheaper, and have a leg up on anyone who is just starting with this game or have only been casually playing it. As awesome as this game is, it just feels like one big beta test for ngmoco's new business model. Didn't mean for this to turn into such a big rant, congratulations to anyone who actually reads it. And if anyone wants to maybe set up some private matches, or AR only battles, where we can compete and have fun instead of focusing on exploiting the weaknesses in this game to advance level progression, then I'm all for it. I've had some exhilerating times playing this game, and I'd like to have more. But I think this game might be beyond fixing at this point.

Totally agree with you. They have to fix this and balance the weapons. This f***** rocket launcher spammers must be stopped. It's against close quarter combat and kills the gameplay.
Hate to say it but..., yeah this game is heading down, down ,down. Ngmoco: you have to put something new (something that will draw more players), then simulatineously fix the matchmaking. If its lag free and not frustrating people will get hooked on it again. Also I am split between the up[grade cost increase. I want it to stop people from getting rly upgraded, but then I wont be upgraded. This will cause my skill to go down (steeply) and everyone who played this game before that update has a HUGE advantage. I would say make more upgrades, but make those new ones the costly upgrades. And turn down the cost of the ones we have currently. 2 v 2 is desperately needed, ASAP. it will bring people back to the game! Also, maybe add something that people can do co-op with? IDK im going out on a limb but honestly, maybe make small missions for players to complete? idk bout that suggestion tho...
You know something else I was just thinking about? Having this pay to play system basically makes it impossible for ngmoco to ever be able to reset the ranks. This is pretty commonplace for online FPS to reset the ranks when they introduce new game elements or balancing adjustments. It's probably happened 3 or 4 times in the 2 years Halo 3's been out. But if they ever had a need to do that in Eliminate, you're basically screwing over anyone who put any money at all into the game. So if the ranking's are unbalanced or they introduce a big tweak to how matches are made, it's just going to continue to snowball and get worse instead of starting over fresh.
