Shut it, Kid. If ngmoco doesnt even stop the most common and well known cheats in the Q3 engine, then the blame is on them. It can´t be that hard to put a simple CRC or MD5 File Check in there, yet they didnt. Now stop being a crybaby. Fraud is illegal, cheating is not. Dont get me wrong, i dont wanna defend Cheaters, but those comparisons are just way off.
Yeah, you can't blame people for killing someone, the victim should have prevented it. You can't blame bankrobbers, the bank should make it's building safer. Sounds good doesn't it?
duh! I agree with tblrsa. If there is a exploit, people will use it to cheat. Makers of the game cannot say, "hey there's a exploit in the game but we want nobody to use it." They should be able to prevent people from using them.
Yes, at least they should have done the most basic steps to prevent it (A File Check in this Case). If i leave my house unlocked, and get robbed, i will have a hard time gettin back any money from the insurance aswell. It´s not like the hack seems to be anything special, as far as i have read, it´s just changing a Binding Option in the .cfg File. ngmoco should have blocked that from the beginning. You shouldn´t be pissed at me. It was ngmoco whom we payed real money, only to play with cheaters for 2 full weeks. Coming to think about it, yeah, that really sucks.
It's almost the same thing, in the game world. It's just like hacking or cheating in MMORPG. It's illegal in the game (which is set in another world, has it's own rules, and those rules aren't perfect, just like our real world), it's illegal in school (and gets you kicked out in college), and if you commit fraud you're cheating the system. Like fraud, "it's all cool" if you're not caught. The difference that makes no difference is no difference. At least you're not dumb enough to condone it. Ngmoco should get to banning those accounts and IPs.
Yeah, that sucks. I have 1 more level to go for my infiltrator armor and my PC. I calculated it would take just under 5,000 credits fully upgrade both, but now it is going to take close to 8,000 credits to get them both upgraded.
These cheats were caught by "Canadians" and no longer work in world matches. If you believe cheating/exploiting is possible and can confirm it or at least point us in the right direction, please send MJ or myself a PM.

Cheaters are expected but what's truly sad is how a lot of you guys justify it. It happens way too often. Saying "I don't care" or "It doesn't affect me" is extremely short sighted. When the other end, i.e., producers, distributors take the extreme opposing position because of this attitude (music/movie industry for example) and this state of affairs which completely sucks can be blamed on both parties. That's when the honest ones pay the price. This is only a game but it's enjoyable. In the future, it may not be so enjoyable because you'll have people involved who have no business dealing their thoughts on the actual product. It's not a big deal now but if this type of attitude spreads far enough, the consequences will come in equal measure and you'll start wondering how we got there.
You're talking about me in this? I'm not sure you can cheat at eliminate. Maybe you're thinking of a couple matches where i got 120 points, right at the end of my PC phase. To do that I camped out at people's bodies and continually taunted for like 6-8 seconds. Can't do that anymore their bodies are dust lol!
I don´t differ between the real world and the game. There is only one world, this is the one in which we live in. Cheating is not illegal by law, but of course the developer can and should enforce a ban if someone is caught cheating. I am well aware that you get kicked out of school if you get caught cheating in America, this isn´t the case in Europe though. Pretty harsh if you ask me. Again, don´t get me wrong, i know that cheating is ruining the game experience for everybody else, and i´m for sure not a cheater. But ya know the old saying: The Occasion makes the Thieves, so ngmoco needs to prevent cheating in the future. The point is that apparently it wasnt extremely hard to cheat in Eliminate until ngmoco fixed their Servers. So all i said was that the company should have been aware of those Quake 3 Config Codes, and blocked it from the beginning instead of letting us pay to play with cheaters.
That was fun. Lot's of back and forth. Playing terrorist is a chore but I think we were matched up pretty well. But now I'm using infiltrator. >:] So overpowering, I find it unbalanced. haha.
Quick Question Guys: Is it unusual that my Sentry Armor goes down like a 2 Dollar Whore, when someone attacks me with the AR, or do i just suck? lol Happens to me every time, Players using the AR are kicking my butt pretty hard. So it´s either me, or the damn armor, i dunno. Is Sentry especially vulernable to the Auto Rifle?

I've been dropping others with AR twice my lvl. In the lower levels it is extremely effective with the right aim. I've noticed lately that in later levels it still does okay because I've been on the receiving end and my health dropped fairly quick. Another thing to consider is that the server hosting the game seems to be constantly tweaked. Everything is in flux and it's annoying.
hack found EDIT: I discovered antonpup's hack after some grueling work. I've submitted the exploit to ngmoco. Hopefully they'll patch it asap.
