I've seen him do that. Throughout the session all you hear is "Yeah!" non-stop and in the end he acquires about 250 credits and a lot of kills some how. I don't think he's the only cheater either. There's a lvl 32 with an AR. I forget his name but with every hit, I'm pushed back without fail taking major damage. Remember, I'm a lvl 50 and I don't believe that's supposed to happen. I've even been hit through walls with this guy. If ngmoco admitted the ability to hack, you'd have a lot more people looking to do the same. I'm sure they are working on it silently… I hope.
This is to be expected with any online game based off an old engine like quake 3. People know how to exploit the engine already, and modding those exploits to work with Eliminate is a small hurdle to overcome.
So, the question is does NGMoco understand that? Their business model will go down the drain if they haven't accounted for these turd burglars.
Urgh they should just rename this game to RocketLauncher Spam Deathmatch. Was getting owned at first so i bougth a rocket launcher. Now i am just like eveyone else and run around spamming it and usually coming top. Its a shame as i prefered the ealier levels when it was more about strategy than just having the biggest gun / armor.
I'm contacting Antonpup right now. he admitted to hacking, i'm trying to make him reveal how he did it...if successful, i will report it to ngmoco.
Oh I doubt that they are stupid over at Ngmoco, they show they are smart by having an intelligent and responsive customer support system, as shown in this topic itself. The problematic thing that I didn't like was the first "hack" that managed to sneak by. All it was was someone changing the command +fire to +giveall, which was a cheat that was included in quake to give the player items\equipment. If this, which is about the most basic "hack" imaginable, was not forseen by Ngmoco, I have my suspicions that the clever ones lurking about were probably not either. I hope Ngmoco gets a handle on it before it becomes widespread, as cheats for online games can quickly destroy a playerbase as all the honest players get fed up and leave.
I think by mentioning how you changed the command of it will encourage the people reading this to try it so please remove it.
yeah.. they might... And, hello fellow Eliminators. It is I. The one who you're talking about... What you call.. Hack.. ain't no hack. If you read WTF, you can see that you can earn points by collecting them, taunting on dead bodies, and killing people/getting killed. I happen to do all of those.
