Idk what to do about this lol. 430 friends requests/followers. Adding them lags my game and takes about 5 min to load Eliminate, I already have over 100 friends accepted that I actually recognize the names of. Not adding them is messed up and I don't get to play them when they want to challenge me.
C4ptain has 4500 followers Zincous, you're in the top 25 in all leaderboards and rising, get ready for some fans
Let those followers die, just add me Nevermind, I just figured out you're in my friend list lol, so just stick to "Let those followers die" rofl
While I don't agree that skill-based matching is the best method (taken into consideration the level argument), I do understand ImNoSuperMan's point of view. If ngmoco's goal is to make it a fun game for most people, then skill-based would make more sense than level-based (which would cater more to hardcore). Perhaps gmain's suggestion merits some consideration (level * skill or something similar).
OMG I hate when I get paired up in a match full of people with RL, "Fireworks" and Blood everywhere, and the worst is that the Blood is mine and the "Fireworks" ain't lol <.<
Allen, go give a punch to the face to your level designer who made Lift's berserker shield location. Kidding, but I'm really pissed. I just played kithmyath, a guy with tanker armor who camped the shield the whole ****ing game and constantly shot rockets so I couldn't get him. I can't believe someone thought it was a good idea to put the shields where they are.
Generally, where would everyone like to see berserker shields placed at in a map? (All nerf shield arguments aside, we'll tackle that separately. )
Probably best to place in tight corridors, in the corner or a recess, where it's simply counterproductive to just sit there, and make it so it's harder to just sit there and snipe people. All in all, away from the large area. For example, just imagine a semi-long L-shaped corridor, and the shield placed at the intersecting point. Now if you just camp there, people could just take pot shots at you and then dodge out of the line of sight. Might not hurt you, but it sure would be annoying to you, and satisfying to them.
LOL, in that particular map.. i would say.. in the middle of the map above the lift, only reachable by jetpack.. so a deadly bomb as you fall so to speak that way you are everyone's target /2c
I was just about to edit my post to fit that in. If anything, they need to be in large open areas, definitely not in small corridors than can be easily guarded. Bedlam, Lift, Tank, Onrail, all have this problem. That's why you never see shield campers on flood, because it's out in the open. Players should have to fight over the shield when it appears in the center of the map. Hiding it really does nothing after people play the game and memorize the maps.
about the one hour recharges: I'm not actually getting a recharge every hour. When I log in mid charge, the timer resets. Here's a basic scenario... It's 10:00 and I've drained all my energy. The countdown timer is at 45:00. When I log in at 11:40 I expect to have one third of my energy bar and 5 minutes on the timer. However I only get the hour's charge and my timer starts over at 59:59. This means that when 12:40 comes I'll have only 2 thirds of the total energy charge an another hour to wait, instead of 5 minutes away from a full charge. hmm... Has anyone else seen this? btw, this also happened at when the timer ran from 240:00.
Really? That's completely opposite of my idea But then I'm not very good with power-ups. I'd have thought placing it in the open would just make it a lot easier for the camper. You'd be bound to come across that area (or other people), he could just sit there in wait and shoot at people when they come across. Wouldn't just make it so the first person who gets there gets to camp there forever? Point here is to deny the wussy invincible man his frags (at least I thought). People complain about dying at the hand of campers; make it so the dying doesn't happen. It would be another matter if they nerf it, then maybe place it in open area.
You pretty much described Lift's shield spawn area perfectly. That's the map I'm complaining about =/
Strangely this has been happening to me as well. I do get my charge , but it seems EVERYTIME I boot up the game my timer is reset to 1 hour regardless of the time.
Haha. Well the maybe they should place the shield very far away from open areas, so that if the camper has to leave the shield to find someone to kill, he'll have to relinquish his "camp". Either that, or place it where view from open area is obstructed, and can't be gotten to in like a few seconds (so you can just pop out for a kill and then pop back to camp).
On taker is should be underneath the whole map, in the center where there are 4 ways in. I think berserkers should be out in the open where the players would be vulnerable to just stand there and guard it. Not in the ends of tunnels and around corners where there are dead ends and only one way in. Like if there was a room with four entrances, it should be in the center.
